A Rushed Look at the Class of 26
#1
With a few games under the belt of the teams in the 27th season of the SSL, some of the newcomers to the league have gotten off to a great start, and I'd like to highlight some of those players

First and foremost, I'd like to talk about my team, Masques Sacres, who have quite a few newcomers, especially in the defensive half. Saphira Brightscales and Sadie Black cover the fullback positions on either side, while Le Chonk takes up a major spot in the defence. This team currently sits second in the second minors division, and although much of this is due to the stellar offensive work from Nico Lam and Scat Cat, the defence has yet to show itself as the detriment that most may have expected, notably with Brightscales currently standing second in the league in assists.

The next name I'd like to mention is Umaq Yupanqui, the keeper for Cairo City. They currently boast a 7.85 average rating with a player of the match performance. They've also kept 2 clean sheets, while also leading the league in saves tipped, showing their acrobatic ability in the net, as well as proving that keepers without a sky high TPE can still perform.

Jack Pow has also been performing very well in Rova Mpanjaka, and is no doubt a factor in their current success, winning all 3 games they've played. Pow currently has 2 goals and 2 assists, including a result in matchday 1 against Seoul, where they got both of their assists and a goal. The second goal came shortly after, also against Seoul, proving that Pow truly despises that city in particular.

Alex Pena is currently the assists leader across both minor leagues, with 5 assists in 3 games, and North Shore United must be thrilled to have signed him, as he currently seems to be a shining light in a rocky start for the team.
