Stockholm Prospects Previews for Draft 27:
After 11 games played (as of writing) there is only 3 games remaining for the young academy players. With the academy season coming to a close, scouts and managers are hard at work looking at the future talent of the league. After spending my season with Stockholm I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the quality players and their destiny for greatness. With the upcoming draft looking to be a large class and the new clubs being added this could really reshape a lot of teams this offseason more than typical years. Teams might be looking for two, three, or even more players which makes these selections all the more critical. Looking at the Stockholm team there could be 5 players or more from this club selected in the first round with 5 of their 8 players currently top 15 in TPE earnings. Stockholm was able to develop chemistry and excitement throughout their clubs players this season that allowed for some standout stars and game performances. The locker room was buzzing before and after every match and players had each others back from game 1. Although the club season may feel short it will certainly be memorable and be recalled as many of our first steps towards achieving our dreams of becoming a top level SHL player. I look forward to seeing my teammates of Stockholm find their new homes and hope to boost their draft stock a little before then. The following is a brief look at the players stats, accolades and first impressions for the start to their prospective careers.

Bonnibel Bubblegum - ST (LAM, CAM) Traits: Runs With Ball Rarely and Gets Into Opposition Area

Starting off we have to mention Bonnibel Bubblegum who was leading the charge every game with their fast pace and strong finish. With 10 goals in 11 matches she is currently tied with "Tex Star" for the golden boot title of the academy. With 26 shots on target Bubblegum is 8 ahead of 2nd place and with 52 total shots total she is also a 10 shot lead on the 2nd place player. Also adding 2 assists, 85% passing, and 64% on headers I think scouts need to ask "what can this player not do?" Watching back the games you can see this player involved in every attacking play and making great decisions. Undoubtedly this player was well respected throughout the season by teammates and opponents for their hard work and commitment. Bubblegum is top 15 in TPE but I think they will be selected in the top 10 or maybe even top 5 overall. This is a player that every club will regret not drafting if the pass on them, they are already a fan favorite and have one of the most exciting futures ahead for this draft class.

Captain Metalbeard - RD (RM, RWB) Traits: Brings Ball Out Of Defense and Marks Opponent Tightly

I don't think a name was spoken more in the locker room than Captain Metalbeard. His name is "Captain" and he certainly deserves the title with how he handles himself on the pitch and in the locker room. He seemed to bring the best out of his team every game with his nearly unstoppable ability. As the teams only defender outside legend players he was tracking back faster and harder than anybody. Still he didn't look like a right back most of the matches because he was all up and down the pitch controlling the ball. He did so much running he is 1st in the entire league for distance traveled after 11 matches. He seemed to get himself involved in almost every play and would win battles with ease. His height was certainly used to his advantage with his headers often starting counterattacks for his team or interrupting the opponents. I look forward to seeing if he continues his career as a defender or moves to another place on the pitch. No matter where he is though he will certainly get himself noticed because he is the often the biggest player on the pitch and used that to his advantage.
Swiss Cheese - GK

Swiss Cheese has the 3rd most wins for his team and the 4th most clean sheets and the 3rd best save percentage in the league. His name may fool some but not those who know him best. Swiss Cheese has improved and held his ground game after game. With only 1 player defender and 3 legends he was often called upon to keep his team in the games. The simulation stats didn't do him justice because if you watch the matches back he makes key saves every game and his team would not have had such a successful year without him. Before and after games he was always keeping the team positive and always concerned himself more with team success over his own. The team was certainly happy to have a goalkeeper of his character and caliber in the net and we all know he will be a tough player to get the ball past in the coming seasons. I'm sure Cheese is poised and ready to takeover the GK role on any club and they will be really happy to have him. I think he will become the standout GK of the 27 draft class.

Daan Wouters - RAM (LAM, RD) Traits: Cuts Inside From Both Wings and Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap

2 assists, 13 shots on target, 11 appearances
Accolades:
7th in distance run for league
8th for shots on target with 13
14th in pass % with 82.3%
Daan Wouters is a player that gets noticed every time he gets the ball. Using his strong pace and acceleration he would dribble past defenders with ease. Sometimes not even using the wing but choosing to cut right down the middle. His 2 assists in 11 appearances do not tell the true story of this players progress. He was often running back and helping out midfield and defence more than anybody as he rank 7th in the league for most distance traveled. If you watch even 1 match with Stockholm you will see this player explode through the pitch and leave defenders like he has 2 gears above their top speed. I was surprised not to find more accolades because he has been such a big part of this club. I have no doubt that this is a player who will be tormenting defenders with his endless stamina and fast pace attacks. This is one player I do not look forward to chasing down next year, but I do wish him all the success. Wouters is currently ranked top 10 in TPE earnings and looks to become one of the big prospects for class 27.

Butters Stotch - CM (CAM, RAM) Traits: Moves Into Channels and Plays One-Twos
Stats:
1 goal, 1 assist, 5 shots on target, 1 player of the match, 10 appearances
Accolades:
1st in successful passes with 787 passes
2nd in cross % amongst players (non legend with at least 2 crosses) with 36.3%
15th in average rating amongst players (non legend) with 7.32
Starting off the year in the CM position, Butters Stotch built himself around trying to be the best team player he could. With a solid first touch he was able to help move the ball quickly to his teammates. It didn't take long for Stotch to recognise the key players on his squad and move the ball where they wanted it. After only a couple games into the season he would get setup for a goal which was a welcome surprise in a midfield role. Still his support came from contributing where he felt it was needed most. From working the ball out wide to Wouters, or covering Metalbeard while he stormed up the pitch, Butters was there to cover his team. Making 46 key passes over the 11 matches really shows that Butters is looking to be a player that can setup his teammates for a quality attacking opportunity. It was great to see Stotch improve throughout the year and build some success and lasting memories with his teammates. Building chemistry on the pitch and in the locker room is something that will certainly help Butters for many season ahead. This was a great start to the career of Butters and he looks forward to seeing where his teammates and himself get drafted.

Felix Dono - RAM (LAM, CAM) Traits: Hugs Line and Tries Tricks

Felix Dono was helping lock down the midfield position in an attacking role. Still his teamplay would help out tremendously on both sides of the pitch. He lead the team in assists with 5 which is only 1 behind the leader currently. With 2 goals to add and 84% passing Dono was a huge contributor in the midfield role. With a pace and acceleration of 15 he could outrun most opponents and make chances for his teammates. He had a tough role being required to play both attack and defence as a midfielder but he handled it very well. Dono was a great midfielder to have with his accurate passing and willingness to find his teammates. Any team will be lucky to have him if he keeps on improving. His TPE has him in the lower part of the draft class but hopefully he can find his way back into the gym in time for the upcoming draft.

Leif Janson - ST (CAM, CM) Traits: Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap and Places Shots

Leif Janson was the 2nd striker for Stockholm the season and became a solid contributor getting 4 goals and 4 assists in just 9 appearances. With 85% passing and 85% tackling this player was a very well rounded player to have up front. Even though they joined the team a bit later they have still moved themselves up the rankings quickly and helped Stockholm well beyond just points. With their attribute "likes to play offside trap", they were often making runs that opened up opportunity for other players. Janson is a smart and skilled striker that could become a strong player for a club down the road. Unfortunately for Lief Janson the training has not found him all season and he currently sits a bit lower amongst the remaining prospects of class 27. I hope he can regain his passion and start some training before the draft begins.

Marius Adamonis - LAM (CAM,LM) Traits: Looks For Pass Rather Than Attempting To Score and Tries Killer Balls Often

3 goals, 2 assists, 8 shots on target, 11 appearances
Accolades:
13th (tied) for goals with 3
Marius Adamonis was a solid contributor for the team getting 3 goals and 2 assists in his 11 appearances. With passing of 84% and tackling of 86% he was a very well rounded player. His vision and passing are his strongest attributes and he really looks to make himself a good team player. He was often the recipient of great passing through the midfield and he was constantly making runs down the flanks to get himself open. Using his dominant left boot he had a strong finish that could have easily got him more than just 3 this past season. Unfortunately he has not found the workout routine needed and hopefully can find a way to rebound and get their TPE back up.

This Stockholm draft class of 27 will certainly be remembered for its great chemistry and enthusiasm from the clubs locker room that made for enjoyable and successful games throughout the season. Each game night was met with excitement from the clubs players and everybody had each other back during the ups and downs. It was great to see both the team success and player success and I'm sure many of us will carry that same energy over to our new clubs.
