So here I am, writing this while still in a state a slight shock. I thought I had what it took to be a first rounder here in the SSL but I certainly didn't expect to find myself picked at 1 overall in the S27 draft. With that said though, I am absolutely of the opinion that there were multiple users/players in this draft class that were worthy of being picked first. Congrats to everyone in the S27 class! We are certainly gonna be an exciting one to watch over the course of our careers.
So now that I'm actually on a real org, I am looking forward to the chance to help write the first chapters of a new organization's history at ASC Yumboes de Dakar. I feel like it's going to be a fun time being able to not only contribute on the pitch but also help shape the organization's culture with some sweet new memes and pixel art.
Now that my academy season is over, I thought I would write a bit about my experience coming to this league having participated in two sim leagues prior to joining the SSL...
Coming from the ISFL and SHL, I was used to getting picked to a minor league team and playing there for a few seasons before moving up to a major team. It's kind of refreshing in a way in the SSL to have a season where you're only competing against your own draft class and bots for a single season before being picked to an org that controls both your minor and major league teams you'll play on.
I'm also loving the fact that you're paid for your effort in PTs. That doesn't happen in either of the other two leagues I've been a part of which is a very nice feature here. In those leagues, you need to earn your cash on the side of PTs in order to be able to buy both weekly tpe and seasonal tpe.
One more absolute plus for me is the simulation engine here in the SSL. Both of the other two leagues use a sim engine which is graphically quite boring to watch. Watching an SSL match feels like you're actually watching a football/soccer match and it's much more engaging.
Thanks for sticking with me this long and see you on the pitch!
