Celtic/Rova history
#1
While the Liffeyside Celtic FC organization is one of the newer teams in the SSL, they have hit some major achievements in that time frame

Season 22

The SSL expands 12 teams, I think, and Madagascar and Ireland are chosen as one of the places for a new team. Madagascar will host the minor team and Ireland will host the majors team. With this being the first season for both Rova and Celtic were expected to struggle a bit and I'm not surprised to see Celtic finish with a 1-3-18 record and finish last in the table with 6 points. Rova on the other hand was a bit of a surprise as they went 12-3-7 and finished with 39 points. This put them in a tie for 5th with Rapid Magyar SC. Rova finished 6th in the table because Rapid had a goal differential of +10 and Rova had a DG of +7. Even though they also finished last in the minors table, this gives the organization something to build on. The important thing is to start showing some level of improvement over the next couple of seasons. Also both teams were bounced in the qualifying round of the SSL Cup, again not really surprised to see this

Season 23

The 2nd season for the origination and both Celtic and Rova had a major improvement. Celtic went 8-5-9 and finished 6th in the table with 29 points. In fact it was competitive at the midtable as they beat out a 3 way tie for 7th by 2 points and 11th by 3 points. They also made it to the quarterfinals in the SSL Cup. Rova went 14-2-6 with 44 points and finished 3rd in the minor table, missing out on 2nd place by 5 points. Even though Rova was knocked out in the qualifying round, again, in the SSL Cup, this was an amazing season from the team. Rean Schwarzer won the Golden Glove and @Bayley, @Nol15736, and @LtForestPuppy were named managers of the season. Now the goal is to stay there for as long as possible

Season 24

This season saw the reintroduction of promotion/relegation and because of where both Celtic and Rova finished, both were put into the top division for their respective leagues. Both teams struggled this season. Celtic went 3-2-5 and finished 5th in the major D1 table, beating CD Tenochtitlan by 1 point to avoid direct relegation and they missed out on 4th place by 2 points. I guess having 2 draws in the season served Celtic's ass. Rova went 1-1-8 and somehow finished 5th in the minor D1 table. Like Celtic, Rova finished 5th by just one point, beating out Montreal Untied; a 1-1 draw against AF Masques Sacrés saved the from direct relegation. Celtic also made it the semi-finals of the SSL Cup while Rova was eliminated in the qualifying round for the 3rd straight season. the good news for both Celtic and Rova is that they avoided direct relegation to D2, the bad news is they would have to fight for their D1 spot in a promotion playoff game. Celtic fought hard but came up short and lost to Catalunya 5-4 on penalties and Rova lost to Rapid Magyar. Because of this both teams will be competing in D2 for s25

Season 25

The main goal from both teams this season was to get back to D1. Celtic was successful in this endeavor as they won the D2 title with a record of 10-1-4 with 31 points. They beat CD Tenochtitlan by 4 points to claim the title. and had their most successful SSL Cup appearance to date, making it all the way to the finals where they lost to São Paulo 5-3 AET. Rova also had a pretty successful season with a 5-3-7 record and just missed out on the promotion playoffs as they finished 3rd in the D2 table. This was also Rova's best appearance in the SSL Cup so far as they got past the qualifying round for the first time and made it to the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, they had to play Celtic in that round and lost 1-0 AET

Season 26

With winning the D2 title in s25, Celtic was promoted to D1 and they were looking to continue the upward trend. Celtic had a really good season with a 7-1-7 record and just missed out on their first D1 championship as they finished 5 points behind the winner with 22 points. They finished in a 4 way tie for 2nd, but got the short end of the stick with tiebreakers. Celtic wound up finishing 5th in D1 this season and were able to keep their spot in the top division by 6 points. This time the team struggled in the SSL Cup as they were knocked out in the round of 16 with a crushing 0-5 loss to CD Tenochtitlan. To be fair they did make it to the semis before they lost. Rova dominated the minors 2nd division with a 13-1-1 record and won the title in convincing fashion with 40 points. With this result Rova will be returning to D1 for the first time since S24. Rova made it past the qualifying round in the SSL Cup for the 2nd straight season and like Celtic, lost in the round of 16. At least Rova was able to keep it a close match as they lost 1-2 to Hollywood FC

Both teams have done pretty good in the 5 seasons since coming into the league. Now the question is can both Rova and Celtic turn their D2 titles into D1 titles
