London, England
As we enter the back of the season, Inter London are now chasing Cairo City for the top spot. They need to keep up if they want a chance in the final weeks. It's safe to say every game from here on out is pretty much a must-win, as they know any more slip-ups could be the end.
Matchday 10 saw Inter London win 5-1 against SD Guayaquil. Benjamin Munro scored a brace, with Erickson and Mendes adding to the tally, along with an own goal by their opponents. The expected goals were heavily in London's favor as they almost doubled Guayaquil in both shots and shots on target. No surprises here, as London was able to play their game and take it to the expansion side. Joao Mendes scored his 5th goal of the season and finished the game with a 7.7 match rating. He made a mistake leading to a goal for Wiggins; however, this was one of the few times that it did not come back to bite his team.
Matchday 11 saw Inter London win 4-1 against Seoul MFC. Munro, Cain and O'Neill were all on the scoresheet, with another own goal. This was a closer game than the final score shows. The shots on target were in favor of Seoul, who had six while London had five. London's experienced forwards were able to put away their chances, and that was the big difference in this game. Mendes finished the game without a goal contribution and had a 6.9 match rating.
This was the week that London was looking for to stay in the season. Now they need to finish strong and possibly pray for some help from other teams!
