**Metafiction**

Hello there! This is Metafiction, newly-appointed Commentary Department Head, putting out the search for new commentators!

Have you ever watched an SSL sim and listened to the commentators narrating the action on the pitch, and thought, “Pfft, I could do that easy”? Do you like screaming at the screen when a player scores an absolute worldie from thirty yards out, or a goalkeeper saves a do-or-die penalty in the dying seconds to send their team to the cup final? Do you fancy yourself a storyteller or a statistician at heart who has all kinds of tidbits about the sport or the league ready to fire off at a moment’s notice?

If you said “yes” to at least one of the above questions, you’ll fit right in with the SSL commentary team. We believe the sport of soccer (or football, if you prefer) is elevated by the figures whose voices are so inextricably tied to it—figures like Peter Drury, Jonathan Pearce and Martin Tyler, just to name a few. We’re always looking for people with a passion for the sport who aren’t shy about expressing their love for the game, and we’d be excited to welcome you to the fold! With the WSFC coming up, now’s the perfect time to join the team.

We’re currently hiring both Full-Time Commentators (FTCs) and Guest Commentators (GCs). The differences between the two positions are as follows:

Full-Time Commentator
-$400k per matchday commentated (for now…?)
-Must commentate a minimum of 7 matchdays per season (any combination of league, academy or cup)
-Must adhere to the SSL Commentary Guidelines
-Eligible for PT Pass
-Receive average of predictions TPE

Guest Commentator
-$400k per matchday commentated (for now…?)
-Must commentate a minimum of 1 matchday per season (any combination of league, academy or cup)
-Must adhere to the SSL Commentary Guidelines
-Not eligible for PT Pass
-Receive average of predictions TPE

While we’re specifically hoping to hire at least one FTC from this process, please don’t hesitate to apply if you would prefer to be a GC because of your schedule and/or IRL commitments. Anyone with a player currently in the SSL or the Academy is welcome to apply.

In order to apply for a commentary position, please answer the following questionnaire:

-Forum username:

-Discord username (if different):

-What inspired you to apply to be a commentator?

-Do you have any prior experience with sim league or other commentary? If so, please describe.

-If you’re applying to be a Full-Time Commentator, are you able and willing to commit to commentating at least seven matchday videos per season? (For reference, this translates to roughly one matchday per week, although you’re absolutely welcome to do more.)

-Do you have any ideas for how you’d like to see the commentary department improve during your time here?

Please DM your responses to myself (@Metafiction) or any BoD member on Discord if you’d like to apply or if you have any questions.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this, and we hope to hear from you soon!
