"McNeil! You got a phone call! Make it quick, we've got afternoon drills to do... ten minutes!" The gaffer yells out to Seth from his office.
'You'd think by now in this era of time the team would be able to communicate with their own cell phones instead of having to use the lone phone in the manager's office,' Seth thought to himself.
"Thanks Gaf, I'll be quick," Seth assured him.
He picked up the phone that was left down on the desk.
"Hello?" Seth asked inquisitively.

“Ah, Mr. McNeil! A pleasure to speak with you, sir. We’re very relieved we could finally get a hold of you,” came the voice from the other line. The man was very well-spoken but you could definitely tell English wasn’t his native tongue. Chinese perhaps?

“Yeah, sorry about that. Someone might have to talk with ownership to modernize the club house a bit. Anyways, what can I do for you?”

“I’ll cut right to the chase as I know you’re a busy man. I’m calling on behalf of BYD.”

“The car company?”

“Precicely. We’d love for you to come visit us for a test drive and have you in one of our commercials to sell our new flagship model that we’ll be launching next year. It shouldn’t take longer than a day and we’re prepared to offer you $1,000,000.”

“Whoa. That’s like a third of my salary for a day of shooting?”

“We hope this means you approve?”

“Hell yes—” Seth cleared his throat. “Er, I mean the terms sound satisfactory,” he finished before thinking something. “BYD is in China?”

“Correct,” he confirmed.

“Well I think you might be a year late. Shanghai moved up to Division One. The team doesn’t play in China this season. I’m not sure when I can find time to do this.”

“Yes sir, we do have a branch division in Japan. We coordinated with your agent that you have an upcoming match in Tokyo at the latter half of your season. We would do it then,” the man clarified.

“Ah! Excellent! I mean… I think I can find a day while we’re over in your neighbourhood. And sorry, I didn’t catch your name?” Seth asked.

“My apologies. My name is Wang Chuanfu. And with that, I believe our time is up. I don’t want to get you in trouble with your manager. We’ll be in touch.”

“Thank you, Mr. Wang!”

“Goodbye.”

And with that, the line disconnected. The manager had left his computer unlocked so Seth thought he’d just run the old Google search for “Wang Chuanfu, BYD.”

<<The CEO and founder of BYD is Wang Chuanfu>>

Seth choked a little before composing himself, closed the browser and after taking a deep breath, pretended like it wasn’t a big deal that the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company just casually called him to star in a commercial for his new car.
“Nah… that couldn’t have been him. Must have been a coincidence,” Seth thought out loud. “Right?”

In all sense of the word, Bob Berendsen has had a storied career so far. Rookie of the season and a league win in his first season for AS Paris AND an appearance and goal for the Benelux in the WSFC. The second season was comparibly mild, only getting 2nd place in the league but in personal achievement it was still good. Third season, another league title, a historic cup run with AS Paris losing only to the eventual winners USP and to top it all of the MVP award for Minors D1. To top it all off a 3rd league title in his 4th season in minors with yet another Team of the season award.

With all this in mind it was no wonder that the sponsors started calling, Nike, Reebok, betting companies. The offers were flying in from everywhere. However strangely Bob rejected all the offers. The big money, the fame the advertisements they all did not appeal to Bob. He was waiting for the right sponsor to come so he could attach his name to something he actually believed in.

And eventually it happened, the companie that Bob decided to partner with was: Bass Pro Shops.

He was over the moon when they offered the deal and immediately started fierce talks with the marketing department, he wants to do a pilgrimige to the Bass Pro Pyramid in Memphis and do an appearance there. there is also already talks about having his own line of USP themed fishing lures, rods even the idea of boats was floated around.

When asked for comment on the sponsorship Bob had this to say: "I like fishing"

really inspiring stuff...

This just shows to all the young people that with enough determination you can really achieve your dreams

Caroni always had a knack for sponsorship deals. Coming from a family whose primary source of income was the catch of the day that came from the river that gave him his name, the thought of being paid just for standing there, smiling, and giving a thumbs up for a company or product that came his way was one that humored him; so much so that he started to appear in increasingly weird commercials and ads, generating a few minor controversies along the way.

However, this reputation had to end when some guys from a company that sold earbuds called Raycons that seemingly everyone was using contacted him. Not knowing anything about the audiophile world, he was about to become a brand ambassador for a nice chunk of change, however, Romana blocked the move, arguing in a press release that the deal was “nothing short of a scam” and that "Riveras will have more counseling regarding his future sponsorships while he’s at the club.”

This so called "counseling" took shape in the form of a proper manager. Thus far, he didn't have any, as he thought he didn’t need one, but his new contract with Romana included it in the fine print to avoid any further problems later down the line in his career. In their first meeting, she had a portfolio of actual brands that wanted to sponsor him, which took him by surprise as it was the first time that the sponsorships didn't come in the form of an email, which was sad for him because that meant he no longer had the chance to check on his pen pal, an African prince.

Regardless of that, Caroni Riveras is the face of Lamborghini's new ad that plays at half time during Romana's games, comparing his runs down the left wing to the acceleration that their new supercar, the Revuelto SV, is able to produce.

After winning the championship with North Shore United and securing promotion to Minor D1, Santiago Mitidiero began to attract attention within the organization. His performance opened the doors to Reykjavík, the organization's main team, where he went on to compete in Iceland. Although his first seasons there weren't marked by major achievements, the experience allowed him to grow as a footballer and ultimately caught the eye of Adidas.

The brand decided to include him in a new group of promising young players they aim to support in their development. The idea is to invest in players who still have much to prove and who, with hard work and time, can become football legends.

To announce this new campaign, Adidas prepared a video featuring several of the selected players, each showcasing a bit of their life and playing style. In Santiago's case, the footage was shot in Iceland, where he could be seen training on a pitch in Reykjavík, doing ball drills and practicing long passes, something that has always been one of his best attributes.

The advertisement aimed not only to showcase each player's best plays but also to tell a bit of their stories and how they got to where they are. Santiago was portrayed as a player who began his journey in Argentina, played for Atlético Medellín, then for North Shore United, where he won a championship and earned promotion, and finally arrived in Reykjavík, where he currently plays.

Now, Santiago wants to focus on what's next and help Reykjavík return to the top flight. Relegation was a tough blow for the team, but he hopes they can use it as motivation for the upcoming season.

With this new sponsor and his renewed contract with Reykjavík, Santiago is more motivated than ever to face the next season. His goal is to help the team return to the top division and prove they can recover from relegation.

Otto Rocket is coming off another lackluster season. Even though he has been one of the highest earners out of his draft class he has yet to translate that over to real on the field numbers.

As Otto is waiting for the call on whether he would be playing in Rova or get the call up to finally play for Liffey, his phone starts to ring.

"Hey Jay! Any word from Liffey on where I will be playing this season?" Otto asks his agent.

"Hey Otto man! I haven't heard from the board yet and that call will come but I got an even more exciting call!"

"Oh yeah? Whats going on?" Otto asks excitedly.

"We finally got a call for your first world wide brand deal" Jay says in a celebratory tone as he continues "Football Manager reached out and wants to put you on the cover of FM 29!"

"What??? Thats so crazy I play that game every week!"

"They knew you were an active user even during the football season so they wanted to show you some love!"

Otto sits back and thinks of how he had played this game since he was a teenager. He loved to try to build up so many different types of clubs, he made tough decisions and built up those to national prominence. Now Otto will be on the main page of the game. Players who play it daily will see him front and center.

Otto hangs up the phone completely forgetting he was waiting on the news of getting called up and fires up the computer to now play something that will feature his image. As the computers power button is pressed nothing happens. His room turns blue and he is now in his Rova jersey with now FM sponsor logo directly in the center and Otto now realizes that phone call didn't happen, he isnt even a real person, he has always just been a player in the FM universe!
