North Shore United continued to bolster their youth movement with 3 selections in the Season 28 draft, and it seems clear that defense was a priority in this one. North Shore came away with 2 central defenders, Ollie Turner and István Buna. Ollie, a player for Jakarta, recorded 8 goals (tied for 5th most in the Academy), 6 scores off penalties (1st), 35 interceptions (tied 6th), a player of the match award, and was just outside the top 10 in average rating (12th). Despite not having any recorded stats (that I could find, possible skill issue on my part), István Buna comes in with a respectable 329 TPE earned as of writing this, which will certainly help NSU continue to climb the TPE ranks to catch up with their peers. Not to be forgotten, NSU also drafted Alyssa Barnes in the 1st round to go alongside their pair of central defenders. Alyssa, listed as a right wing-back and another Jakarta player, had a pretty great season statistically. To name a few of her notable stats, Alyssa managed to take home 4 player of the match awards (tied for 2nd most in the Academy), 10 assists (also 2nd), had the 3rd most key passes, and put up an impressive 7.93 average rating, which is 5th among all Academy players. Overall, this looks to be another nice class for North Shore as their rebuild takes another step forward. It'll be exciting to see how these players begin their minor league careers!
