It has come to our attention that tactics for three teams, Tokyo S.C., Cairo City FC and Hollywood FC, were not updated prior to the simming of Matchday 4. All player updates from the week prior has been checked and we could find no other errors, so the only issue is the tactics of the three teams. The tactics were sent in before the set deadline for submissions. We can only speculate as to why this has occurred but the simplest reason is that it's an honest mistake and the wrong file has been sent to the simmer.
Tokyo S.C. played a 1-1 game versus FC Rio, Hollywood FC lost 1-4 against Athênai F.C., and Cairo City lost 0-1 to Inter London. We understand the frustration felt by the affected teams, that they followed procedure but did not see the updates in the matches. The fact that all three games of the matchday has been affected has led us to issue a re-sim of all games from Matchday 4 with the correct submitted rosters. Re-simming games in a sim league is a drastic option that should be used in very limited circumstances, but we felt that since all matches were affected, this is one of the few times that warrants a re-sim.
The re-sim will not be recorded, but an announcement of the result, the updated file, and updates to the index will occur within the next couple of hours.
Moving forward:
In order to prevent any repeat of this mistake we have decided to implement the following processes for all future matchdays.
- Each new tactic sent by the managers should be named according to their team name and matchday. For example if a new tactic is sent in by Cairo City for Matchday 4, the tactic should be named Cairo City - Matchday 4 either by the manager if FM is used, or by the file-worker in FM if the Google Sheet for tactics is used.
- Each manager must notify of any changes made to the roster in a specific thread on the SSL Forum before each matchday deadline. Roster changes are either new submitted tactics, players coming in or out of the roster due to waivers, trades or transfers, or any other aspect that is not related to player updates occurring at the beginning of every week.
- Prior to each sim, the simmer goes through the posts related to that matchday and checks all changes have been made or makes the changes accordingly. A reply is then sent in the thread of this fact.
We are expanding the team of users helping out with different aspects of the league, and we hope that this will reduce the amount of work placed on a few people increasing the risk of mistakes like this occurring. We apologize to all teams that are affected by this.
