Adowa Accra FC

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: I believe that Catalunya has the experience to take the title home

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer:
I believe Cairo are bringing a lot of improvement reaching the Semis and playing good football
3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer:
Snooks is the cornerstone of our team, off and on pitch.
4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: Thomas Llewellyn and Corleone are really doing a good job out there!

AS Paris

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: Don't wanna jinx nor do I wanna seem biased but I believe and hope Catalunya win this. But props to both Graydon and Omni for this great turnaround, both killing it.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: Definitely Accra. Beating Sydney isn't for everyone but it is for them. I just hope that doesn't make them the better expansion you know

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: Owen 44

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: I will give it to Oak and Horvat this week, both slayed the midfield, each one in their separate roles, and have been crucial for us all season long

Athénai F.C.

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: It's a tough match-up for sure with both teams hoping that their strengths will give them the win. I think Tokyo's flexible offense is coming up against a possession strong team that will test both sides. 1-2 in favor of Catalunya.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalunya, Athênai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: Accra beating last season's finalists in Sydney is a great feat. Sometimes the ball is going to bounce your way but getting it to do so over the course of two legs has more than luck to it.

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: Not to be a homer or anything but most valuable player to his team is Deedee Yoker. Leading the league with 5 player of the match wins after 14 appearances is quite an indication of how much Athênai needs him every game.

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: Yoker keeps on contributing offensively and we finally see some results in the past couple of games.

Club Atlético Buenos Aires

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: Tokyo only having the league to play for is in a good spot. But Catalunya are in good spirits after beating Hollywood in the cup. I’ll say 2-2 draw.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: All 4 teams have made impressive runs. A dominating R1 performance from Catalunya saw them win narrowingly against a good Hollywood side. Athênai sweeping aside Seoul with ease in their QF also a strong showing. Cairo crushing Paris before winning out on penalties over two legs against Inter London shows great strength.

But what Adowa Accra has done can’t fully be measured. Taking down Buenos Aires was always gonna be a strong possibility, but taking down 3rd place and last years finalist in Sydney City over two games? And doing it by winning away from home? Incredible, incredible performance.

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: DeeDee Yoker has been instrumental to how well Athênai has been holding up this season and is worthy of a shout. Both Azpillicueta and Forty-Four has been scoring goals for fun. João Morelli of Tokyo and Ricky Bobby of Hollywood have been standing out in a great way for both the respective teams.

My vote will in the end still go to Yoker. Most PoTM awards on a not as strong team shows just how good they are.

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: Giannis Kroustis has been a great player for us in both games we played this week.

Cairo City

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: Just going with my gut, I'll say 2-1 Catalunya dub.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: I think I have to go with my own team here. After finishing last in the league last season, we beat Paris (currently 4th in the league) and then beat a tough Inter London squad as well. Honorable mention to Accra, who advanced past Buenos Aires and then shocked Sydney City!

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: I'm gonna shout out Jonas Thessenvitz here. Folks who don't play ST or GK don't always get a lot of love, but Thessenvitz has been amazing. 7.69 average match rating, 7 assists, 50 key passes, 47 successful crosses, 20 chances created, 56 dribbles, 57 interceptions, 26 tackles won...I could go on and on. A fantastic player in both attack and defense!

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: Elmis the Heretic, for some fantastic goalkeeping in our cup matches against Inter London, including 4 saves in our penalty shootout!

CF Catalunya

Catalunya did not respond this week.

Hollywood FC

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: Tokyo has had an amazing season, but I gotta give the nod to CF Catalunya.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: It is clearly Adowa Accra that has had the most impressive run to this point. I don't know really anyone that expected them to be there, and they deserve a lot of credit.

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: While there are some offensive players worthy, I would vote for Tokyo's keeper Kody Hill. 10 wins and 8 clean sheets is quite a stat line for a rookie.

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: This week it will be co-players of the week. Ricky Bobby with 4 goals and Tiki Taka with 4 assists.

Inter London

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: I think Catalunya take the win!

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City(after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: It would certainly be impressive if Inter-London were still in the running after losing on pens! But in all seriousness, Adowa Accra seem to have that magic in them
(authors note: I misread the results and accidentally wrote that Inter London won on penalties when first sending out the questions. Oopsies)

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: Wowza, tough on. Probably Alexandra Gunnarson, but I might be biased by my love for goalkeeper!

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: K Clamance really stepped it up this week. It wasn't the best run of results for us, but he has certainly done his part

Montréal United

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: 1-1 late tying goal from maple

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: Adowa Accra

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: I shall revisit once season is finished

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: david doug

Seoul Mythic FC

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: I still feel Tokyo is the team to beat right now. I love Catalunya’s style of play and I’ve always felt their squad is strong but Tokyo is the most complete team the SSL has seen so far, it’s hard to put my money elsewhere.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo City (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: Adowa Accra and it isn’t close. Nobody expected them to make a run like this and they’re really making the league eat their words. I hope their Cinderella run can continue.

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: I’d be hard pressed to find a player in better form than Joäo Morelli. Among the league leaders in both goals and assists, the rookie is tearing it up in Tokyo and there’s few who can hold a candle to him right now.

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: I’ve got to pivot back to Okocha again. He’s just been so snakebitten in front of the net but he’s generating an unreal amount of chances. He’s a player to watch going into the second half of the season, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t start racking them up.

Sydney City

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: I gotta rep my boys from Catalunya. They're a solid group of people and I'm just glad to be able to see them pop off in the way that they are! I'd have to go 2-1 Catalunya.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Cairo (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: It's hard to look past Accra beating us. They came in with a gameplan and executed. You have to give them a lot of credit and I'm hyped for KZB and Accra to show what they can do

3.Who is your vote for mid-season MVP?
Answer: That's a good question to be honest, I haven't really considered that at all. I would still probably give it to Owen Forty-Four, whilst they aren't on track to beat their goal scoring record of last season, they've still been electric for us.

4. Your teams player of the week
Answer: It's a toss up between Costanza and Owen for me. I'll let the reader's decide which one is the player of the week between these two!

Tokyo S.C.

1. Just over halfway through the season we see a very tight race at the top of the table between Tokyo S.C. (9th last season) and CF Catalunya (5th last season). Both teams are also facing each other next week. What are your predictions for that game?
Answer: Tokyo comes away with the close W 2-1. This is one of if not the biggest match day battle in SSL history. Tied for 1st place, 10+ game unbeaten streaks on the line, Tokyos last loss was to Catalunya week 1…the tension is palpable.

2. The cup quarter finals have concluded with Catalnuya, Athénai, Adowa Accra and Inter London (after penalties) all claiming spots in the semi finals. Who do you think has made the most impressive cup run thus far?
Answer: I think Accra hands down has made the most impressive run. An brand new expansion team that has somewhat struggled with league play thus far this season (9th place). They’ve made a remarkable run to the Semi finals of the cup, inspiring any and all teams that when it comes to the Cup? Anything can happen. For those that don’t know the story…Tokyo in S1 was 1-5 with a -16 goal differential in league play. Despite those difficulties the group stayed positive & made a remarkable run all the way to winning the Cup trophy.

The fact that so many different players were named as mid-season MVP in the eyes of GMs is a great testament to the competitiveness of the league and the respect and viability of different positions. Great stuff!

My favorite is Montreal's response to mid season MVP.

How can you revisit the mid season MVP at the end of the season? Lol
