Per Section Subsection 1 Rule 1.c - “The SSL Commissioner(s)and/or BoD reserve the right to enforce punishments and suspensions towards any user that attempts to cheat or break the rules. This includes multiple attempts at misusing the rules for an individual gain,“ the Board of Directors has deemed punishment necessary to both the management of Sydney and Catalunya for expansion circumvention. Where an on-point rule is missing, unethical behavior from both Sydney and Catalunya is apparent and requires a response from the Board of Directors. In preparation for the upcoming expansion draft, we learned from Sydney Management the following: Sydney asked each member of their team if they would be willing to play for an expansion team. - Any player that stated they would retire, or rejoin Sydney in Free Agency were left unprotected - Any player that stated they would be willing to join the expansion team was protected. - Sydney thus ensured they could keep the maximum amount of assets, while simultaneously leaving no assets of similar value to an expansion club. - Sydney also noted that they understood in their decision making that rule changes would be needed as a consequence of their actions, - and also noted that this was exactly what they had done in the previous expansion. As a previous expansion side, Sydney Management must have understood how important and difficult it is for new managers to find quality players or draft capital. When a player stated they’d be willing to leave, that was an opportunity to expose such a player for the benefit of the new manager and the league. In choosing to instead protect them and expose the ones who’d either contribute less or resign, a healthy expansion was simply tainted. We were informed that Sydney proactively reached out to expansion teams, stating in sum that their best expansion players may not be under contract, but would resign and go back to Sydney if selected. Ultimately, this meant that Sydney circumvented the expansion process so that only their lowest TPE players would be exposed. Along the same issues, Catalunya chose to not protect 9 (and expose a 1st round draft pick) with the intent that their players would retire but then made deals to secure that the players stayed instead. In this case, where expansion teams were still able to secure value from Catalunya, it was on terms Catalunya set outside of the straightforward terms of expansion. It left each expansion club with little opportunity to obtain the value they should have received from a team with such depth in assets. Though both offending management groups may point to concerns that they did not break a specific rule, the above actions fit “misusing the rules for an individual gain.” Where a manager might point to “multiple attempts” as a reason to limit a punishment, the Board of Directors will respond that this is a limited punishment compared to what was being discussed. These actions are facially unethical and damage the health of the league, common sense should have prevented this from occurring. Per Section 1(2)(a) - “Punishments can include, but are not limited to: game suspensions, salary penalties, posting suspensions, forum bans and more, depending on the severity of the offense“ Considering the offences which have occurred, the Board of Directors announces the following: Sydney: Transfer Budget reset to $0 to start S5 Loss of nearest 2nd Round Pick Catalunya: Transfer Budget reset to $0 to start S5 The Board would like to add that any future attempts at Expansion Circumvention by any team will be met with a harsher penalty than handed out today. Our aim as a league is that all teams have a chance to put their best foot forward, not only those teams that have been around for some time. The Board also has already settled on a few more robust set of rules and guidelines that will be utilized in any future expansion.

Not even punished for breaking a specific rule, just for "unethical behaviour". When trading back for your players has been fine literally one season ago. Being told you basically can't sign FAs less than 24 hours in advance is just the cherry on top!

Sydney City is the only reason im in this league and this board is very much testing my patience. Right better rules for next time, dont cry and say nooooo you broke rulesssss we thought offff kinndaaa. Write them down, you are a head office running a league. Not a group a people running an online league who decided they didnt SAY you shouldn't poach each others players but its what the admin wants. If you want your governing body to have any air of legitimacy you'll stick to the rules. Not bend them to punish whoever you with. This punishment in particular is dictatorial and completely farcical. Can't wait for someone to do too well in the league you dont want, and the board to find a way to take it from them. Oh and by the way. Im the one who went to pau twice and said ill piss off from the expansion team and or retire. You dont even have the common sense to come interview the players. Good lord. You'll probably spill incompetence all over your keyboards and take MY transfer budget away for this.
