It is time once again for my seasonal Pierre Houde season review. I'll keep my analysis to league appearances as it's easier to compare the stats. It is once again a tough season for Cairo, with the team having a rough start of the season in Division 1, but picking it up in the last few games. Pierre can take much of the blame for Cairo's poor performances, as the African team keeps allowing tons of goals. Perhaps the team staying in Division 1 was a blessing in disguise, as the opposition is much tougher this season than it was last season.
Pierre Houde's average rating is right where it was last season, with a difference of 0.01 compared to last season. Still a lot of games to be played so that could still go up or down. Pierre covers more ground this season with 11.19 km per game, compared to 10.78 km per game in S4. Although it's the first season he doesn't have either an assist or a goal, Pierre seems more offensively minded with a 0.49 xG, nearly matching his S4 total with games still to be played. Perhaps Pierre needs some glasses, he's 1 in 9 for shots on target. With each season however, Pierre improves his passing game a lot. He's up to 96.5% in passing, compared to 94,73% in his first season. Pierre has always been a good passer, it's just that he makes you forget about it when he passes the ball to the opponent in the box every once in a while. Pierre also improved in headers, although his headers aren't as critical as they used to be. Perhaps the most improved aspect of Pierre's game is his tackling, going 13 in 14 this season, but the only problem is, he almost never tackles compared to other center backs in the league, which is quite worrying for a defensive minded center back.
In short, Pierre Houde continues to improve, but I think he's still viewed as a low-tier center back in the Division 1 center back hierarchy. Let's hope he can continue to improve as Cairo attempts to win a title in the coming season!
