Despite some of the best metrics going into the S5 Draft, she ended up dropping all the way to 24th overall. There were reports following the draft that teams had players threaten to hold out of their contracts if she was drafted and she received a very cold welcome to the Kaapstad set-up. Thus, her first season in the league amounted to a single 90 minutes played. That’s all. There is no other possible story that I can spin for you that changes the fact that Ariadna Tokino Nagatoro Maradona received a single appearance all season. After everything that was said, after everything that had happened for her to get there, it is honestly just completely wild that at the end of the day, Nagatoro rode the bench for almost her entire rookie season. This entire point task revolves around talking about how the player felt loved and cared for upon arriving at their team, but this was legitimate neglect for the player. She barely registered any stats in her single appearance and was even played out of position when she did play. It’s still uncertain why management at Kaapstad had even drafted her, as it was thought that they were genuinely interested in her help. It’s also just as wild that they did this to a high-level player while they were in the middle of an incredibly close promotion race. Believe me: Nothing about her rookie season makes any sense. From the media’s insistence on calling her by her maternal last name despite insisting on having “Nagatoro” on the back of her jersey, to Kaapstad’s sudden competitive-ness as an expansion side, to the fact that she somehow went an entire season riding pine. This past offseason, changes were made within the coaching staff and front office and there are plans for her to get some real playing time. Now, we wait for her real rookie season, one in which she will be trying to make it up to the first division by any means necessary. Whether that’s with Kaapstad or not. APPROVED and yikes

She's biased, just coming out of her first season, but it was very much sink or swim. She had good days and bad days in even strokes - making London a home isn't easy, especially someone as used to small-town life as she is. Sometimes the team felt like home and sometimes it was like she was seeing strangers. The first few weeks were the hardest - she was trying to prove that she'd earned her place in a young league, and everyone seemed like they got along so well and she was looking in from the outside. So she'd taken all that frustration and loneliness to the pitch. Both at practices and at matches, she'd run until she ached, slide in for tackles she wasn't sure she'd make, and came home bruised and with dirt still caked under her nails. And she came back from games with things to show for her efforts. After one match where she'd passed back when the net was open, the coach had pulled her aside during halftime and told her that she needed to take more chances. And she'd been ruminating on that. She's always taken a moment with the ball, dribble around, get open, look up and take stock of the situation before making a move. But that was in national leagues, and in the SSL the pace is faster, the players are faster, and she has less time. So she'd taken chances here and there, and watched tapes after. She still saw herself playing cautiously, holding the ball for longer than necessary, but there were some few quick decisions that benefitted her greatly. A quick no-look pass one game led to her one and only assist of the season, and while her completed passes remained high, everyone on the coaching team agreed that they'd like her to take more chances. Creating a special connection as S4 would be the first for both the team and the player. Having only played domestic football in a weaker Tongan footballing system. The transition from this to the high skill level of the SSL. Also as a 18 year old from a small island the move to a big country like Ghana was crazy. Vui would play end up playing 26 matches in his first season. Making 18.5 apps over the 22 game regular season and 5.5 apps in Adowa's amazing cup run, which saw them get to the semi finals, where they would eventually lose to eventual winners Catalunya. For a first season Vui, who plays as an attacking minded midfielder, he would deliver a solid preformance. In league matches he would deliver a 6.98 average rating. Scoring 5 goals and 4 assists, proving to be a great offensive asset. He proved himself a capable playmaker, attempting 1046 passes, completing 894 for a 85.5% pass completion percentage. While being an offensive tool, with 21 tackles won on 24 attempts, a 87.5% tackle percentage. He showed great ability in stopping the opponent and helping in the press. Finally he recorded 30 interceptions and 33 clearances, all while making 0 mistakes leading to goals. With his ability to draw out fouls, being fouled 20 times. Vui showed a well rounded playstyle. Accra would end up finishing 10th in the league with 23 points. A record of 6 wins, 5 draws and 11 loses. Saw them being 8 points above the last placed team. As mentioned earlier, the team also went on an incredible cup run getting all the way to the semi finals. With a heroic 1-0 win at home, which could sadly not overturn the 2-0 defeat they had suffered when visiting Catalunya. For a first season, Vui and Accra gave a hell of a preformance. It would not save them from the drop to the newly created Div. 2, but the team showed the potential they had as a brand new team. [401 words] APPROVED and Tonga Time

After much anticipation, the young centerback was drafted first overall in the 5th entry draft for the Simulation Soccer League. LeDiver was notably shocked when the expansion team’s União São Paulo GM called his name down before anyone else and immediately felt the need to come through on his commitment to the new club. LeDiver began with São Paulo in Division 2 with lots of personal expectations, but the team did not have many expectations. LeDiver started off the season with a single match against F.C. Kaapstad at centerback before he was moved over to the right side of the field and for the rest of the season he played over there. The team was unable to win any of their first three matches, but LeDiver managed to have a strong form with ratings of at least 7 in each of them. In the cup match versus Sydney, the team was unfortunately unable to get anything done which was mostly expected since it was an expansion team against one of the best teams in the league. Sydney would eventually win the cup during LeDiver’s rookie season. Finally, against the rebuilding Inter London squad, LeDiver and the Union were able to get their first ever win in a 1-0 nothing victory and Hol LeDiver was named Man of the Match, his first and only one of his rookie season. In his next match against CA Buenos Aires, LeDiver also reached another first. During the 32nd minute, LeDiver made a throw-in and then watched patiently as the team kept possession in Buenos Aires’ half. As Fred and Matthew Mayhem played a bit of catch, LeDiver lost his man and Fred found LeDiver breaking for the right corner. LeDiver powered a high cross into the box perfectly to the head of Pascal Anivierre who blasted it home giving Hol LeDiver his first career assist and eventually another 1-0 win. The team eventually would manage to put themselves in a fantastic position to move up into Division 1 going into the final week. With four teams vying for position, União São Paulo was able to pull off a 2-1 victory over Inter London (a match in which LeDiver was carded early) and the team got the help they needed from the other matches that day, advancing to play with the big boys. LeDiver would finish with a fine rookie season, with the second highest number of successful tackles in Division 2 and a higher percentage won than the leader. He finished eighth with 16 crosses and 13th with 72 successful headers. Offensively he clearly has a lot of room to grow as he only managed one assist and had an xG rating of just 0.01, but it’s hard to argue his defense could have been much better, playing off his best position for almost the entire season. Joining midway through the already started season, very few GMs felt the need to ask questions of the very human Hugh Mann. Canadice (then) Interim manager of Athênai Football Club was the only one to even interview Hugh about his thoughts and impressions of the league (which by the way, are as positive now as they were then.) About 48 hours later, the waiver wire went through and surprise surprise, SEOUL <img src='https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/SEO.png' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/SEO.png' /> was the team to pick him up, apparently he was too human for everyone but them! On a positive note, being picked up by Seoul allowed Hugh to join forces with Michael Müller, whom he had met before and had actually piqued Hugh’s interest into soccer. Shortly after that, feeling a want to help the league out, Hugh decided to apply for a role on the awards committee and joined Omniscius and KZB in the job of collection, deciphering and awarding of awards based on alien criteria too foreign for (most) human brains! Overall, Seoul finished with six wins, five draws, and seven losses. With 34 goals scored, and 37 allowed, for a total goal differential of -3 and 23 points. It was a decidedly mediocre season for Seoul, tying for 6th place out of 10. Hugh made nine appearances in the league, with 810 minutes played and an average rating of 6.9 (with an additional appearance and 6.9 rating in the cup) Hugh ran an astonishing 124.6 KM total (which averages out to 13.84KM/G or 8.59 miles per game) he added 1 assist, a total of .25 xG, 4 shots, 2 of which were on target. Alongside 595 successful passes (out of 658 for 90.43 Pass Percentage), 17 of which were key passes, an additional 6 successful crosses (out of 22 for 27.27%) all of this lead to 3 chances created for the team. He also used his gargantuan frame to collect 48 successful headers (out of 54, for an 88.89 header %) Defensively he garnered a respectable 20 tackles won (out of 23, for 86.96 T%) 17 interceptions, 42 clearances, 24 fouls (earning him 2 Yellow Cards) and 2 Offsides. Overall it was a very solid if unspectacular rookie season for Hugh, and he looks forward to scuttling into Seoul fans hearts as he does his best to make sure Seoul is a respected and difficult opponent in the SSL (411 Words) APPROVED

It's not been an unpleasant experience, given the welcome he and the squad received from the locals and the team staff. Coming in as a first round pick for an expansion team might've been a lot of pressure for another player, and it certainly was to Llewellyn. His growth was sporadic or even stalled out through the season. Pundits attributed this to homesickness or "dislike for the environment", when really the young Seattleite began to struggle with anxiety and depression from the combination of press attention and the blowback from team performance. Pre-draft reports highlighted that these issues would be challenging for the defensive midfielder despite any promise on the field. "I love it here in Accra," Thomas said in a late-season press interview when the issue was pushed. "The people are kind and the team is building something special. I want to be here." The result for Accra left a lot to be desired, with the team falling to 10th on the 12-team table. The first leg of the season was especially punishing, with decisive losses and undecisive victories. The middle and back legs were slightly more promising, but the damage to Accra's playoff hopes was immense, and dropping late losses and draws didn't make up the difference. They ended the season 6-5-11 with a -6 goal differential. Llewellyn himself was inspired for a rookie defender, winning 13 of 19 tackles, intercepting 73 passes, and clearing the ball 205 times. His overall game rating suffered, however, as he failed to post any goals, assists, or shots on net through his 25 appearances, but as a zone defenseman, it's not too surprising. Accra definitely has a lot to be excited about if he can continue his development. Perhaps what he'll be judged on most in his career is his ability to pass and create. He prided himself on that ability before coming into the SSL, so he hoped to settle in and at least have that to hang his hate on in his debut campaign. He completed 651 passes out of an attempted 759. That's a very solid 85.8% on the year. While he hopes to see that number climb into the 90s as his career continues, that's a very reliable number to see from the rookie. To build on that, Youre was also credited with 10 key passes, showing his vision even early in his career. London as a team struggled to convert chances into goals, so none of those key passes lead to assists. But it demonstrates his link with the attacking players starting to develop. No assists and no goals from the Ivorian in his opening season, but as he played deeper most of the season, that's not something to be discouraged by. Playing deeper and bolstering the defense was more central to his role, so looking into his defensive stats would behoove us. Unfortunately, there aren't a ton to write home about. While his total number of tackles was low, Tata did win 12 of 13, which is a fantastic conversion rate of 92%! As a 6'2" presence in the midfield, he should also be a bit of an aerial duel winner. Through the season, Tata did win a nice 69% of his aerial battles, knocking on 29 of 42. Not as high as he'd like, but still very promising. Overall, the numbers are a bit underwhelming in some categories, especially in the more attacking sense, but there is plenty to build upon as Tata's career continues. The team as a whole definitely struggled all season, but Youre will look to improve both offensively and defensively in his quest to become a complete mid-fielder for the London club. APPROVED

While he would preferred to play as a right midfielder Cairo didn't use that position in their scheme for the season, and couldn't find a loan for him. And also GM that drafted him left to save Sydney or something like this. So that's how Felix became a substitute right fullback for the team. He didn't mind that much cause he definitely wasn't ready to start in the first season in division 1. The season went pretty well for Cairo. It finished fourth in the division, but was pretty close to contending for most of the season, going on the long loseless run in the middle of the season. But some unexpectable losses and draws, like with Sydney and Sao Paolo didn't allow them to finish higher. Still it was much better result than previous season for the team. In the cup they advanced in the second round. Matches against long time rival Catalunya were crazy. They lost 5-2 in the first match, with four penalties awarded against Cairo, but managed to win second game 5-2. Sadly Cairo lost in penalties shootout, but Arasov scored his first career goal in that second game. As a back up Felix played just in several games during the season and in most of them it wasn't full time. still he managed to get some stats, and to help his team in some games. He debuted in the game against Sydney, that was completely dominated by Cairo from the start, but still ended in scoreless draw. Arasov played for whole 90 minutes, ran for 13.2 km, completed 3 out of 7 crosses, won all his two tackles and even had5 key passes. But still it was enough only for 6.8 mark for the game. Some notable games for him were cup matches against Catalunya, where he got a goal and assist in two games. In his second league game against Sydney he managed to give two assists in 5-0 win and finished with his best 8.3 mark for the game. Overall in league games Felix played for 405 minutes through six games and finished with an average mark of 7.13, which I think is not so bad for a rookie in top division. He ran for 66 kms, which is pretty natural for fullback. Completing 7 out of 20 crosses is really not bad, but he created just one chance through all the season. In defensive department Arasov won 8/12 tackles, and made 11 interceptions. I honestly expected for him to do more, but it is what it is. APPROVED

To start it off, Roberto joined Sydney (now Reykjavik) as a waiver claim as his eligibility for the SSL was only approved following the draft. Reykjavik was coming off an impressive Division 1 win but saw almost all notable names retire or shipped out for a change in direction. This meant lots of playing time and lots of growing pains for the rookie playing against top competition every night. The season began in a surprising way, as Roberto was helping Reykjavik shut things down at the back and they were winning games, climbing the table and staying there. They even did some damage early in the cup. From a team perspective, Reykjavik began faltering and their descent to the bottom of the table was imminent, however Roberto kept on playing solid defense for the team and was one of the few bright spots on the team during a tough season. Roberto was not a flashy player, he did his job at the back and got the ball out of harm’s way. Played a simple game to help his team as much as possible remove themselves from dangerous areas. When looking at his numbers at the end of his rookie season, we see some pretty impressive stats: Key Headers: 44, 1st in Division 1 (2nd had 29) Key Tackles: 5, Tied for 6th in Division 1 Clearances: 310, 1st in Division 1 (2nd had 203) Looking at these stats, the Clearances he had in his rookie campaign jump out immediately. He had over 100 more clearances than the next best player in Division 1 last season. In addition to that, he becomes only the 3rd player in SSL history to have 300 or more clearances in a single season, and he’s only a rookie! These numbers are quite crazy and it seems to have almost gone unnoticed how effective he was on the back line for Reykjavik. Now, Roberto obviously wasn’t perfect, and his team struggled, but this rookie season clearly showed him and others what he’s capable of bringing to a team. He continues to work on becoming a premium defender in this league, and he will not let anything stop him. He continues training and keeps building himself up into the best defender he can be. With Reykjavik’s relegation, Roberto is heading into his sophomore season in Division 2, against players who are much closer to his age, so it will be interesting to see just how well his rookie season prepares him for this. If Reykjavik wants any chance at success, Roberto will have to be on his game every matchday, and we will see what he can do this season. APPROVED
