The all time top scorer with more goals than appearances in SSL would get picked up. Plus I believe only 1 other player is Slovenian player wise and he is IA so not much competition for the spot really.

So for ease I will just use the IRL Slovenian team. I think we would have a bit of a Norway vibe going on. Norway are a respectable nation at football and can upset teams but they are not anywhere close to the big guns of europe. However they now have Haaland who in many aspects would be Owen Forty Four for Slovenia. A deadly striker who can score on any defence in the world (Trust me, I did a sim in S3 with him on Villa in the premier league and he still got top scorer with ease) but not much in terms of world class talent going backwards.

Now Slovenia do have some good players but they're not world class so I think the mentality would be to just try and perform against whatever nation he is put against rather than knowing they are going to win. I would hope we would get some crazy 7-6 results for entertainment but at least they would qualify for the Euros and world cup again and be annoying to face.

It would be a dream come true for Owen Forty Four to play for Slovenia. For the storyline of Owen I have something special planned for a Slovenian career but that will be in time, I still need the main story here to continue on first. Maybe in time I can implement some of that into the SSL with Slovenia but for now it is just a private section only the beblos will see.

The emotions of Owen Forty Four playing for Slovenia? Rather predictably, pure hype. I gave him a personality that would get hype about just about anything. From eating an apple to watching Catalunya pull a Spurs by finishing 3rd in a 2 horse race. He would be thrilled to go through with it and maybe, just maybe...Pull off a miracle and win something with them.

[373 words]

APPROVED
PS: As long as he ain't like that relative of his that missed a penalty once on a Friendly, eh?
(S2) Owen Forty-Four:
- 181 Major League Goals (Most all time)
- 76 cup goals (257 goals overall)
- Multiple golden boot awards
- Multiple team of the season awards
- Most Valuable Player award winner
- Founder of Sydney FC
- Invincible Season with SFV (In S15 as golden boot winner)
- Greatest striker of all time

Neither country had made significant waves in international play with the history of the Japanese being more prominent, though only due to their mild success years and years ago. As for the Canadians, Ryze hoped that there was going to be at least some familiarity with current teammate Yannick Visser, but unfortunately the wingback opted to play for the more prestigious Netherland organization. There was some hope otherwise that maybe they could attract other talents with Ryze being one of the core pieces, but having experienced a lot of difficulties in Rio as part of a struggling organization finding their footplace, Ryze was hesitant to consider the nations whose hopes pinned squarely on him. Especially with the sport relying on not one but eleven players, the other offers and requests from other nations to find him 'new' heritage in his family line was tempting.

Zambia, was curiously one nation that had been quite clearly consolidating high level players in gearing up for the future international tournaments. There would be players such as Mikko Rashford and Ricky Bobby who Ryze were familiar in coming up against, not to mention some of the parallels that have been drawn to Bobby's play being fellow strikers. Would it be the right choice to consider a growing collection of superstars and how well they set up to win international hardware? Strangely conflicted, Ryze continued to postpone sending an official response either way. It was contradictory to the point of not wanting to be singularly focused individual on both sides of the ball. Yet there was some weird thought at the back of his mind, playing the the supporting role or potentially being anonymous in a football winning machine. He knew that given how their careers had diverged, playing with the likes of Ricky Bobby was a potential dream come true. The idea of how the Zambian wingbacks need only send the ball in the direction of either striker was a tantalizing idea. Not to mention being able to play a great through ball for his strike partner or an onrushing Rashford also didn't sound too bad either...

APPROVED

And no mention of Vercetti, fancy that

He, like any well adjusted human being, had his phone turned off while watching the show. It wasn't until after the movie finished that he checked in that he saw an overwhelming amount of messages waiting for his attention. They were all there to congratulate him on making the national football team of Zambia which was earlier announced while he was busy watching the movie.

"I MADE THE TEAM!" shouted Jarrow to a steering wheel that had become accustom to his random outbursts. He then immediately called his teammate Rashford.

"Welcome to the Copper Bullets!" yelled Rashford to a still stunned Jarrow who immediately hollered back into the phone "Welcome yourself! Holy shit, can you believe it. We made it!" on their congratulatory phone call.

Jarrow spent the two hours sitting in that theatre parking lot replying to messages and scrolling social media. It wasn't until the 2nd showing of Top Gun 2 ended and people were streaming out of that movie that he had realized how long he'd been sitting there stunned.

----

Attending training camp, Jarrow's larger and angrier than usual butterflies were immediately calmed once he saw his fellow Hollywood FC teammates in Mikko Rashford and Ricky Bobby show on the pitch. Along side them were a lot of youth players Jarrow grew up playing and practicing with, Rigmarole, Allister, and Tightpants to name a few. Seeing so many friendly faces helped a lot to calm Jarrow's nerves.

The experience was a bit of a blur where the extreme pride Jarrow had felt the moment he put on that Zambia kit was slowly replaced with a feeling of imposter syndrome as training camp went along. Playing a new style, with new teammates, was definately an adjustment and it wasn't a challenge that Jarrow was expecting. It wasn't something he was going to back down from after getting this far.

Every day brought an improvement and although it took the better part of training camp, Jarrow eventually found his footing and his place on the team. There is a lot of excitement for a young team looking to shock some of the larger dogs in the tournaments. This is a roster chalk-full of potential and one that can take some people by surprise.

[ 391 words ]

APPROVED

Everyone in this country has been directly affected by isolation and loss. But we have also seen countless examples of heroism and sacrifice. It’s given us all a new understanding of the fragility of life and what really matters. When you think of the grand scheme of things, perhaps football doesn’t seem so important. What is important is how we use it, as a unifying factor, as a way to connect under one goal and purpose.

As we go into this summer, I know that there will be a lot of emotion tied up in the tournaments to come. I repeat over and over that when you go out there, in this shirt, you have the opportunity to produce moments that people will remember forever. That your kids will show off to their friends and feel pride, that your neighbours will think of, when they see you passing by and it will make their day a bit better.

A piece of clothing has never been more important to me than this Ghanaian kit. This information came to him from his agent as he was in the middle of playing the last fixture of the season for Buenos Aires. The result did not matter to him anymore as he would get his national team debut.

The feeling was exhilarating that after all of his hard work from a poor kid playing football every day and night of his young life to escape his parents problems at home in Helsinki to becoming one of the brightest upcoming stars in Finland's football history. He would soon join the likes of Sami Hyypiä, Jari Litmanen and Teemu Pukki to these great players who have played for their respectful national team. No tears were shed, we all know that Aimo is very motionless when it comes to playing ball, and everything revolving around it.

Not many of the old players who did belong to the squad played in that game where Aimo had his debut. It was against Denmark in a friendly game, and the only player who had played for the national team before was Glen Kamara, who unfortunately had his season cut short after Glasgow Rangers failed miserably in both their own national league and on european football waters. Rive also played something which was out of his usual playbook, a 4-2-2-2 formation, with Aimo and Glen being as the central midfielders on paper, but in reality Glen would play in the midfield as the playmaker, primarely focusing on bringing the ball to the wingers, and Aimo would position himself right behind the 2 strikers Finland had.

After the 86th minute it was tied 0-0, and Denmark had changed their entire defense, including their fullbacks and defensive midfielders, as they were running a narrow version of 4-3-3. Aimo positioned himself slightly lower to be able to assist Glen, which allowed the winger to take more attacking position, Glen passes to Aimo who touches it slightly to pass it to the winger in nearly full speed. He then manages to challenge the danish fullback almost all the way to the goal line, but the resilient danish with relatively fresh feet manages to catch up to him. Aimo goes in for the cross, which never comes, so he takes a few steps back. Winger passes to Glen, who is known to be very a very enduring engine on the field. Glen sees the most narrow angle you could imagine, passes the ball to Aimo, catching the danish centerback way off guard, who then is able to free his dominant foot to places the ball right behind the danish goalkeeper. A beautiful effort of teamwork awards Finland 1-0 lead in the game, which happens to be the final score also. Game winning goal: Aimo Tälli, assisted by Glen Kamara - and we're only getting started.

509 words

APPROVED

Clamence has had a singular hunger each day to be the best player on the planet. And yet, another desire has been chewing on Clamence's focus. What would happen if Clamence was put on the world's biggest stage, representing his nation of origin, the United States America?

K. Clamence is training with his best friend, Bud-Lite McGuirk, playing some Kung Fu Basketball, when his phone in the corner of the pitch black room lights up. Typically his phone lightens up for a half moment when a message comes in, but at this time the light never turns off, due to a flurry of unending activity on his home screen. K. Clamence picks up his phone to see countless congratulations text messages. Confused to why he's being congratulated, he finds that a twitter report leaked the upcoming USMNT roster and K. Clamence's name was on it.

Remember when Baby jumped into Johnny Castle's arms at the end of Dirty Dancing? How effortlessly Johny held Baby in the air? K. Clamence and McGuirk attempted this same maneuver in celebration as K. Clamence jumped into McGuirks arms but their movements were not nearly as graceful and K. Clamence fell right over McGuirk's head.

Uninjured, K. Clamence waited by his phone for an official report, and soon K. Clamence heard from the gaffer himself. A FaceTime call from an unknown number came through and K. Clamence did his best to hold back tears as he gratefully accepted the call-up.

As the call came to an end, the gaffer asked if McGuirk was nearby. K. Clamence nodded his head and the gaffer asked that K. Clamence hand the phone over. On the leaked roster, McGuirk's name was notably absent, but the gaffer told McGuirk to not believe everything you read on the internet because McGuirk would be called up as well. K. Clamence and McGuirk again attempted the swan hold from Dirty Dancing in jubilant celebration, but this time K. Clamence overcorrected in catching McGuirk and threw him into the ceiling. The gaffer watched the whole event over FaceTime and told them they would not be roommates at camp.

The players respectfully disagreed.

APPROVED

It was a sunny day in Catalunya when her phone started buzzing non-stop with calls from her agent. Finally picking up once she got out of the pool, she dropped everything and started packing when she was told the starting goalie just got injured. The first move that she made was to call fellow Catalunya player and now her new Icelandic national team teammate Jökull Júlíusson to tell him the great news. He’s nothing but ecstatic for Alexandra and very soon the two of them are in tears of joy describing how fun it will be to play together.
It's no surprise that the Icelandic team isn’t nearly as filled with talent as other powerhouses like Spain and France, but there’s still a few big names on the roster to discuss. The mainstay of the team is Gunnar Runnarson, the old and grizzled veteran that patrols the midfield shutting down rushes and starting a lot of counter attacks. The striker Tyler Olafsson is known for his breakneck speed and is often cited as one of the most underrated players in all of Europe. The real cream of the crop for Iceland is the so called “Fearsome Four” of their back line on defense: Mikael Haraldsson, Jökull Júlíusson, Arnor Johannesson, and Patrik Magnusson. Nicknamed the Iceberg with how strong and deceptively strong the defense is, they shut down attackers with a lot of strength and precise positioning.
To celebrate all this news, Alexandra calls up all her friends and teammates who aren’t away on training and has a party for this. At a local popular Catalunya nightclub they dance and be merry as they celebrate for Alexandra. The next day, everyone gathers up at the airport to send her off to the Icelandic training facility, where she’s determined to train her absolute hardest and put in all the effort needed to help Iceland perform on the national stage, because when you’re up against the likes of Germany and the Netherlands, every single step and every single rep in practice goes a long way to giving your team the best possible chance on the global stage.

372 words

APPROVED

While Okamoto had previously already had some success in the Simulation Soccer League (winning a Cup with Tokyo and Catalunya), he definitely has not yet earned all the accolades, and making the national team was a big one on his list.

Okamoto winning the Cup with Tokyo happened in S1, and was one of the big factors that cemented his place in Japanese football culture. Anivierre is in the squad as a full member, and while a cap is not particularly likely due to the gravity of the situation, the national coach Didier Deschamps has told Pascal that he is a very underrated piece in a league that is relatively unknown. For that reason it is very difficult to know his actual capabilities, and that is part of the reason that he got the call. During this qualifier second leg for a spot of 32 in the 2028 world cup, France was already virtually guaranteed a spot due to a perfect 12 points in the group already. Uganda had managed to secure a wildcard spot to attempt to qualify, but had been wildly ineffective and had only managed a single goal throughout the stage. Bosnia was a stronger team that could have made an attempt at qualification had they fallen into a group without a powerhouse, but France had so far beaten them 3-1 with another match to play. And lastly, Ecuador was another minnow team with little hope at world qualification that had fallen to France twice, 6-0 and 4-0. After another convincing win against Bosnia 4-2, Deschamps informed Anivierre that due to France already clinching a world cup berth and the impressive effort in practice, Pascal would be starting in the match against Uganda at his natural winger position.

In the first half, Pascal made several good quality plays, but stayed back in a more defensive position as a winger because of his anxiety about possibly screwing up such a massive moment in his career. Didier took Pascal aside as the side made their way back out to the pitch and said "Kid, just relax. I can tell you're all worked up trying to make a good impression, but that's not what I brought you in for. I brought you in because you have the potential to be one of the best in the world, and this left defenseman here is the best player in all of Africa, much less Uganda. He is the sole reason they are in this position trying to qualify. You've been quite good against him so far and haven't even noticed. Now go out there and really turn it on in this second half here. Just play your natural game. We're up 3-0 and have secured qualification. Just play your game."

In the second half, Pascal registered two assists in 5 minutes on beautiful dribbles, and then was taken down on a dangerous tackle in the box by aforementioned LD. Didier allowed Pascal to take the penalty, and it was clean blasted into the perfect spot in the right corner. The next 42 minutes were relatively quiet as France had subbed on several players that Uganda was attacking, but in the final minute, Pascal recovered a cleared header from a corner, dribbled all the way to the box, faked a shot to the opposite corner of the net which made the defender in front of him and the keeper open a small gap in the near post, and absolutely lasered a shot through the gap into the back of the net. Game over. (570)

APPROVED
