#6 International Superstar [Now Open to S14 Players]

Player Page
Career PT#5

Jannik Andersen has had a wonderful career so far in the league and while not getting any league cups to this point, he has been a solid keeper for Athenai and has earned himself a couple team of the year spots as well and hopes to grab a bit more before he hangs up the boots. Due to his success and the overall growth of the once unknown SSL, Andersen has become a bit of an international football star and has earned corporate sponsorships, media events, and even has graced the cover of magazines and video games.

The first time Andersen was really breaking into that part of becoming an international superstar was when he was asked to be on World Soccer magazine's cover and do a write up within the pages as well. He was able to tell his story about how he started playing soccer, his time so far in Greece and with the national team and overall just tell the world who Jannik Andersen is. He graced the cover as the cover athlete and a few more pictures were featured along with the article as well and it was really player focused whereas he had and has always been about the team first and being a cog in the machine but he was now getting more individual recognition.

It was not long after that Andersen got the call and was asked to grace the cover of that year's latest installment of SSL's video game, SSL8. The cover was for the European edition of the game as the game features a few different cover athletes based on region but for all of Europe, they would get the edition with Jannik Andersen on the cover, a great achievement. There is no SSL Video Game curse it seems as well because that season after the game was announced, Andersen was able to get his 2nd team of the year placement that season after the game was announced. His cover athlete SSL team card was highly sought after as well and was the top valued card on that digital market!

He really broke through internationally with an endorsement deal from Germany's automobile company, BMW. Specifically, he was the head spokesman for their line of motorcycles which had grown over the years. Little do people know but Jannik Andersen is a motorcycle enthusiast and has also done promos for Harley Davidson in the USA as well and owns several of their motocycles. His biggest deal was with BMW however and appears in many ads and rides his BMW daily while his other bikes stay in his garage in Athens. He has done some work on the car side as well but mostly has just been dealing with a lot of the motorcycle side which is growing in Europe maybe thanks to Jannik. His deal was a multi million endorsement deal that runs through S15 in the SSL!

APPROVED

Ricky Bobby Player page
Career PT#5

Ricky Bobby is now an international superstar. Frankly he was always a superstar. He is one of the best player that the league ever saw. But he has a dark side. He is a gambling addict. In my previous article I talked about his struggle with Loto Quebec. They used the guise of sponsorship to control his whole career and get him even more addicted. It's a tragedy. But Richard Richard is not an idiot (he is) he decided to leverage his career skill and international success to get a new sponsorship with bet365.

Bet365 have accepted to buy his debt back from Loto Quebec. And they gave Ricky total control of his career. Ricky is now free to play for the international that he want. He is free to play for the SSL team that he desire. Ricky is really happy. He even got his name back. He can now be called Ricky Bobby. He discovered a plot between the Quebec gouvernement and ancestry.com . They faked everything and Ricky was born in the United States all along !

Bet365 had some conditions with this deal. Ricky had to do two things.

Ricky had to do all his gambling on bet365. He need to talk about it after every games. With this alone , Bet365 are guaranteed to make their money back in less than 2 months.
Ricky have to score at least one goal every season. If he is not able to do his part of the deal , they will make him pay his gambling debt. He owe 315 billions. Ricky will have to play soccer for a long time , because it's a life long contract!

Ricky is pretty happy about this deal. He think that it will help him become a better soccer player. Ricky think that they are is downside to this deal and this time all will be well!

APPROVED

The Colombian food delivery is one of the single greatest “unicorn” company stories of the last decade throughout Latin America, with an app that simplifies and makes more efficient food delivery cycles for courier, customer, and business. And as a player who focuses primarily on getting the ball to the right place at the right time so that others can thrive, it’s an almost too-apt parallel to her game.

While it’s difficult to draw parallels in Ramirez’s career (calling oneself a “greatest in a generation” of anything is a tough sell), she has been an important figure in international football for Colombia. Indeed, she’s essentially the only Colombian of note – and that bought her at least the foot in the door she needed to start this sponsorship. There are several advertisements she’s since found herself on, particularly cheesy (but unusually well-made) shorts where she passes peoples’ meals from restaurants directly to actor & actress customers in various communities with unusually perfect pearly whites and make-up. She even managed to pull in a friend or two as extras, who were happy to be paid a small fee and in exposure. Her popularity exploded with this advertisement even more so than her actual play in the SSL, sparking recognition in common Colombians, Venezuelans, central Americans, and even extending substantially across Brazil – where she now calls home. Astoundingly, people across the globe recognize her as one of South America’s many sweethearts. Her Spanish in commercials is not-so-subtly dubbed over in Portuguese (as she’s had little time to learn it for herself since the transfer was so recent), though she’s since been able to re-capture her performance in her accented English.

[320]

APPROVED

Player: http://sslforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380
Career PT 5: http://sslforums.com/index.php?showtopic=1...indpost&p=41926

After the fiasco that was his first attempt of getting a sponsorship at the national level, GOAT was in no rush to get into it again. In Japan, he wasn't really seen as a big star compared to some other teammates who got more of the spotlight, and he was more than okay with that. Back home in France, he was also not the biggest player, despite being on the national team for many seasons, he tried to keep to himself. Surely one day the right sponsorship opportunity would come, but that could wait until it was actually right. He was living his dream of playing soccer professionally and being quite successful at it, so showing his face on a billboard just to make people buy random stuff made little sense to him. Sure, the money would be nice, but he was not in need of much.

His agent, a much greedier yet very nice and understanding man, was reaching out often with national sponsorship deals. One time it was a car dealership, the next some footwear brand of dubious quality. One time, a big fast-food burger chain (which shall remain nameless) reached out about the possibility to create the McGoat burger, which was insane to GOAT since he is a vegetarian. Obviously all of those were turned down.

In the end, GOAT's first sponsorship deal was not a national one. He waited long enough to have the notoriety for an international deal, and picked one that suited his values most by affiliating with Greenpeace, staring him and a bunch of goats in a worldwide effort to promote biodiversity and responsible agricultural practices. The results were mitigated, and it was far from the most lucrative sponsorship deal in the history of soccer but GOAT was proud of standing for something that was important to him, and the fact that he got to show his face to the world was not bad either.

APPROVED

An especially scrappy game with the Pervuian team let Youre display a spicy side of his personality that caught the eye of some interesting parties. The international brand Frank's, creators of hot sauces primarily, had a representative contact Youre's manager after the game to ask if Tata would be interested in partnering to represent the brand. After the initial shock had worn off, Tata did decide that he would indeed enjoy the opportunity, but needed to have plenty of input on the deal. Frank's were happy to oblige, so the two parties got together to make things happen. Youre wanted to be sure that if his name was going to be attached to a brand, it needed to be representative of his African culture. And as such, peppery heat is no joke! There's a Yoruba saying that "A soul that does not eat pepper is a powerless soul." So, Youre and Frank's teamed up to make a new sauce that represented the flavors and spices of Africa and made sure that his family and friends would respect the heat level! The heat of West African Bonnets mixed with the fruity flavors of habaneros blended perfectly together to create Frank's newest flavor in the lineup; "Youre On Fire!!" When asked how he felt about the opportunity and the sauce itself, Youre said he was humbled by the offer and is truly excited to be a part of bringing more of Africa's culture tovthe world. Frank's was kind enough to send a case of sauce the his family in Divo and one to the cafeteria at the Reykjavik facility. Youre obviously has a supply at home and does indeed put that shit on everything.

APPROVED

Player Page
CPT #5

Star French defender for AC Romana Fallon d'Floor has announced a new partnership with European real estate company Soeni. d'Floor, who has been a star wing-back for Les Bleus, recently signed the first maximum free agency deal in Simulation Soccer League history with AC Romana, moving up to Division 1 after their contract with Inter London expired. d'Floor had recently expressed a large interest in having a one-club career with Inter London, but the opportunity to sign a short-term high-value deal with Romana was "too good an opportunity to pass up". d'Floor also noted several teams' interest for their services, but stated that "they wanted the big bucks now, and I can look to my future next season".

It's a similar story with Soeni. Established in 1959, their specialty is in rental properties, with over 4 billion euros in total equity. Having acquired several other real estate companies in recent years, their assets have grown several times over in the past decade, and have recently specialised in turning commercial properties into residential estates. Soeni are the largest real estate company in France and the 4th-largest in Europe, though have not established any international subsidiaries, though have stated "if something presents itself, we may look to expand".

d'Floor's sponsorship has been described in conflicting accounts - while Soeni has regarded this as an endorsement of their services, d'Floor has stated that they will be a brand ambassador, while both parties have stated that there will be a large marketing campaign undertaken to promote the brand. Part of the reason this may have been stated is due to the amount of real estate that Soeni holds within Paris, and d'Floor wishes to disavow any potential conflicts of interest that may be held between the SSL's clubs and potential corporate sponsors. However, this may all be speculation, and perhaps some missed translations between the French-language company and the trilingual d'Floor.

<For updaters - 316 words>

APPROVED

Thomas Llewellyn - Player Page
Completed Activity #5

Tom Llewellyn has had quite the turnaround in the last year. It's surreal, bending on bizarre, if you ask him. Who knew all he needed to do was take a line-drive shot straight to the gut to cover for their wrong-footed keeper, preserving a one goal lead in the stoppage minutes of the World Cup Final? It probably helped that the maligned Adowa Accra FC franchise was moving to Germany, giving Tom and his SSL teammates a fresh start. Add in the "American hero" perspective and there were more than a few offers made. He's signed on for 2 of them.

The first is with Adidas, which makes a lot of sense. The brand is huge in sports, especially in Europe and soccer. It'll mostly be a "print" campaign, with pictures for digital and magazine ads instead of a video. There's a few different people who get pulled for these types of promotions every year. It might be a bit generic and his part in the campaign is fairly small, but the money offered was still pretty good and it came with the benefit of supplying his equipment for 2 years. There's a good chance of renewal if he can continue to stand out as SFV settles in Germany.

The second deal was a cooperative promotion with his mom for Subaru. As one of the first high-profile LGBTQIA+ athletes, she had been a Subaru spokeswoman for most of her career. Kelly has driven an Outback for most of Tom's life. He had even had a small cameo in one of his mother's commercials back in the day. They were one of the first families with 2 moms to be featured in a multi-national ad campaign, with the whole family "on the road to the World Cup". The new agreement will be a series of heart-warming, family-driven commercials slated to reach the market in time for the start of S11.

(319 Words, Ready for Grading)

APPROVED

Adam Knight Career PT #5
Adam Knight Player Page

After 5 and a half season's in the league, Adam Knight has grown from young SSL hopeful to one of the better fullbacks in the league. An all around player, Knight is comfortable playing on either side of the back and is just as proficient driving forward with pace and dribbling as he is cutting out passing lanes in the back. It came as no surprise when he was approached by representatives from New Balance asking him to be their spokesman. As a kid who grew up in Boston, Knight was certainly familiar with the Boston-based company and had worn many a New Balance shoe to run back in the day. He happily accepted the partnership, and began making arrangements with the New Balance reps for the future.

The big thing coming from this partnership was Knight's own pair of signature cleats. While he didn't quite have the star power to attract the same offer from some of the big companies like Nike or Adidas, a smaller company like New Balance was ecstatic to land such a dynamic player to partner with. In addition to this signature line of cleats, Knight was also made to agree to only use New Balance gear for training. This proved to be a pretty easy switch as he had continued using New Balance shoes and flats for cardio training through his time in Buenos Aires. A few photoshoots and one commercial shoot later, Knight was all set for the time being. Having learned from his previous partnership with Dunkin Donuts, he was a lot more experienced in front of the camera, hopefully leading to a better ad campaign and more sales of his new cleats. All in all it was a big break for the Buenos Aires man, who looks to help his side win their first league title over the remainder of this season. Talk about an advertising opportunity!

APPROVED

Career PT #5 Hugh Mann

Hugh Mann Page

Wow, Interplanetary sponsorships! Who would have thought such a thing could happen to one with such a humble beginning as Hugh Mann. He was a hit during his most recent international call up, along with Seoul advancing to the Quarterfinals of the cup, a multitude of sponsors showed up with contracts and offers for our favorite human (Its in the name, See!) soccer player. Big names included Glagnar’s Human Rinds, Arachno Spores, Mutual of Omicron, Cash Bone and finally Torgo’s Executive Powder. While continuing with his local LOG™ commercials, Hugh decided to break with the normalcy of product placement and decided to advertise for his favorite television show The Scary Door. Hugh was hooked from the first episode he ever watched, with the dialog in the opening:

Announcer: You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter: The Scary Door.

Something about this show spoke to him and he couldn’t resist the opportunity when they came calling. It is a show that makes you think about the Earthican condition and how after all things, the most evil beings are man (or just ourselves) and how we cannot be cursed by our own hubris. Or even Hugh’s absolute favorite episode. Where aliens attack the farm, but all military might is useless against their technology only for them to be defeated by the humblest of all of God’s creatures…the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It is shows like these that have a moral and make you think, and Hugh is happy to be a part of that proud tradition, to inspire anyone while also keeping an eye on potential pitfalls that may betray one while they move forward. Hugh is happy to sponsor this show for as long as it remains on the air, and even a bit further. After all you never know when a show might be picked up to be made again. And if you do know ahead of time… perhaps you have stepped through… The Scary Door.

(313)

APPROVED
