Welcome to this article about the history of the Red Star Laos team. Red Star Laos was started in season 7, under management of Joestar. This season wasn’t the best season for Red Star Laos, where the start looked decent getting 2 points of the first 3 matchdays, with draws against Adowa Accra FC (now called Schwarzwälder) and Montréal United, and even a win in the 3rd cup game against division 1 team F.C. Kaapstad in the cupgame after matchday 4. But that is were it stayed for that season, ending last in D2 with 0 wins, 2 draws, and 12 losses with a 13-58 goals for-goals against making it to a -45 goal difference. We did come 3rd in the cup though.
During season 8 Red Star Laos went through a few changes, with Joestar stepping down because of time constraint Rashford become the temporary BoD appointed manager. With Chicken (hey that’s me) becoming the tactician. This season went a lot better with matchday 2 against Montréal United becoming the first ever win in D2. This first half was a bit better in general were we won in cupgame 3 against CA Buenos Aires, and got 2 more points in D2 with wins against F.C. Kaapstad, and A.C. Romana. Around this time (not sure exactly which matchday, but it was somewhere around the halfway point) Chicken went from Red Star Laos tactician to manager, and with the often told new manager power Red Star Laos went on the best streak of points it had ever gotten, with wins against Adowa Accra, and Kaapstad in MD8 and 9. A draw against Seoul in MD12, and wins over Inter London and A.C. Romana for the last 2 matchdays, which meant Red Star Laos came in 4th in the league with a 27-26 GF-GA causing a -1 goal difference. Laos did become 4th in the cup group this season, and got 18 points in total.
Season 9 was a really basic season for Red Star Laos. With once again 5 wins over the full season, with 2 wins against both Cairo City, and Kaapstad and 1 win over Adowa Accra, we only drew once this season getting a draw against Reykjavik United. Season 9 was a pretty basic season, losing against everyone above us (outside of that 1 Reykjavik game in MD2), and won against everyone below us (except for MD3 against Adowa Accra). In the group we once again became 3rd, losing out on going through by 1 goal difference. In the league we got 5th, with 16 points.
That leaves only season 10. This season is obviously still ongoing, but so far we are in 5th with 1 league win against Cairo (matchday 2), Kaapstad (matchday 6), and Montréal (matchday 8). In the cup we are knocked out in 3rd with a win against Montréal but losses against Sao Paulo and Reykjavik. Obviously this season is still currently ongoing, and apart from Montréal we still have 1 match to play against every single D2 team.
