S11 End of Season and New League Structure
#1
An important announcement is written after the end of season re-cap. Please read the announcement in full!

Yesterday marked the final matchday of S11 where we saw Tokyo S.C. lifting the SSL Cup after a tight game going into extra time against A.C. Romana. Earlier in the week we also saw Reykjavik United being crowned the Division 1 Champions and Hollywood FC claiming the Division 2 Championship title. Congratulations to all teams!

Tomorrow (October 2nd) marks the start of the off-season, and things are going to look a bit different this time around.

Pending FA period
Any player that is on an expiring contract (no contract signed for S12) is considered a pending free agent STARTING ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 4th. After this organizations may contact a pending FA and negotiate a contract. The player is not a free agent until the start of the next season thus they may still sign an extension with their current team during the week without reducing the team's transfer budget. We just make to make one thing clear: A manager may not force a player to provide intent to sign. This week is intended for players to be able to talk to teams and be shown alternatives for how their future may look.

Re-rolls and Redistribution
S10 (last chance) and S11 players may re-roll their player during this off-season.

This is also the last week when S11 players may redistribute 100 TPE and/or their entire positional XP. S11 goalkeepers may also use this redistribution to conduct a full re-roll to an outfield player.

Claiming old tasks
The deadline to claim earnings (both capped and uncapped TPE) from S10 is at the end of this off-season (October 6). S9 started on August 7 or AC#81 and ended on August 6 or AC#89.

S12 Prospect Draft
We are also gearing up for the SSL Prospect that is set to take place next weekend. More information about a specific time and a dedicated link to the draft list is going to be published during next week.

During the last couple of months we have had multiple openings for manager positions for teams in the SSL. The BoD have struggled to find interested users resulting in the BoD either stewarding a team for one or more seasons, or having a BoD Member step in to take over the official role of manager. This is not a feasible long term strategy and has diverted BoD resources that could be used for developing and maintaining other parts of the league, increasing the quality of life for all users.

In the recent survey sent out to users, we asked you if there is any interest in taking on a management role when we move to FM24 in the hopes that we would see a chance of finding the next couple of managers. Unfortunately the responses from the survey did not provide a great outlook. This has led to the BoD, with feedback from the managers, deciding to change the league structure to provide stability and places of engagement to the league as a whole.

Introducing SSL Organizations

We are announcing the merger of the current 16 teams to 8 organizations, consisting of two teams each. This change removes the promotion and relegation system in favor for a major and minor league, where each organization fields a major and minor league roster. This change allows for the concentration of active users to 8 locker rooms instead of 16, hopefully creating more engaging and active places for the individual user. It also concentrates the managerial duties to 8 groups where new users have a greater chance to join and learn the role alongside experienced users before maybe taking the steps to lead an organization themselves.

The BoD has decided which teams are merging based on the active player base and their TPE level, merging those with higher TPE and number of active players with teams with lower TPE and number of active players. This has created 8 organizations with similar number of active players and of similar TPE levels to provide each organization a competitive chance at succeeding in the seasons to come.

IMPORTANT
As this decision is made without asking every individual user on the current teams, we acknowledge that there might be some users that are not going to want to be a part of their merged organization. If you feel that this is the case, I implore you to reach out to either your manager group, myself or any other BoD member. The BoD will have an open discussion with any user that contacts us to try and find a solution. Please understand that we are not making this decision lightly and are not able to check with everyone of you beforehand, but hope that together we can make this change a positive one!
IMPORTANT

The teams that are merging in each organization, and their decided major and minor league branding, are as follows.

Tokyo S.C. (major) and Cairo City (minor)
Management group: @sköldpaddor @Graydonsanatomy @Nhamlet

A.C. Romana (major) and Inter London (minor)
Management group: @Laser @Pib

CA Buenos Aires (major) and Athênai F.C. (minor)
Management group: @Runningman434

Schwarzwälder FV (major) and Montréal United (minor)
Management group: @FaraDian @Duilio05 @tomtommen

União São Paulo (major) and AS Paris (minor)
Management group: @Matty86 @Frenchie

Hollywood FC (major) and F.C. Kaapstad (minor)
Management group: @3lewsers

Reykjavik United (major) and Red Star Laos (minor)
Management group: @RashfordU @Domffl @FuriousChicken

Seoul Mythic FC (undecided) and CF Catalunya (undecided)
Management group: @omniscius @twix @Aenir

Once more, the goals of these changes to the league are to concentrate the active userbase to more full and engaging locker rooms, reduce the number of needed managers by concentrating the managerial duties while increasing the size of manager groups, and provide long-term stability for the league while at the same time allow growth of the user base.

Any questions you might have about this change can be directed to myself or any BoD member.

So, are managers able to move players between the two teams in their organization? Or are players signed to Minor League contracts or Major League contracts specifically?

@Pandar@scudmuffin19 Yes a player is able to be moved between the Major and Minor club freely. But a player may also negotiate a Major clause if they wish to only be used in the Majors and it is agreed to by both the player and manager. I'm not positive if movement is allowed after the Trade Deadline, but I'll check with @Canadice and post back here tomorrow on that aspect of it if he doesn't chime in himself first.

A full list of the updated rulebook should be up within the week officially detailing these things, but the working idea is as Matty said.

A player within an organization can be assigned to either team throughout the season if they do not have a Major Clause to their contract. Each roster needs to fulfill a set amount of requirements in terms of players, assigned salary and IA status contracts so there will be some restrictions in place.
