Red Star Laos relocation and rebrand

Hello Everyone, It is a honor to announce to the league as a whole that the only SSL team that is in a land-locked nation will be moving to the ocean, with Red Star Laos moving from the mountains and tropical Laos to join our major league team and going to an island, but instead of Iceland, it will be New Zealand. Of course thanks goes out to the board for allowing us to rebrand the Red Star Laos team.

The process of rebranding the Red Star Laos brand started slowly around S9, eventually it started really progressing since last season. With @RashfordU already having come up with the brand we eventually ended up using, and New Zealand already being 1 of the locations I was looking at back in S9, as it would be nice to have a new team in Oceania, with there currently being no team on that continent after Sydney moved to Reykjavik.

Now of course the important part, the actual team. The team is an already known one, as the brand has been in the academy for the past few seasons, as North Shore United. First off, big thanks goes to @Thunder39 for creating the logo for North Shore United. We will be playing our home games in our stadium which will be aptly named “The Beach” based on the many beaches the North Shore area has.

Now onto the logo. The logo itself is based on Māori designs, but also is in the form of an S, made up by an N and a U, for the N S U initials making up the North Shore United name.

Now onto the kits that will be used by North Shore United.

The home kit will be an all-black kit, looking at some of New Zealand’s national teams in other sports.

The away kit is a mainly white kit, with some blue in a “wavy” pattern for the closeness to the ocean,

 

while lastly the 3rd kit is a golden-colored mountain.

I hope everyone is as excited as we are about the change from Red Star Laos to North Shore United.
