Hello everyone, Zema here. The time has come to announce the logo, colors and the jerseys for Club Atlético Buenos Aires. I would like to give a huge thank you to @Thunder39 who has done an incredible job on creating all of it with my small input and odd ideas. I'm very happy with the result, and am excited to share it with all of you.
The Logo
When going through what some of the things I wanted out of the logo, a few things came to mind. I wanted a crest, and I wanted a sun to be part of it. The sun is of course an homage to the sun on the Argentinian flag. So when it came to the colors of our club, having a sun rising/set on the horizon could be both cool and somewhat unique. And Thunder really nailed that. The colors are great, the crest is so well done and the monograms are just doing wonders.
The Shirt
Home
Away
I had a good initial idea, and Thunder just took that and ran with it. I have always had a weak spot for the design of what I would like to call the "River Plate stripe". The diagonal line accross the shirt is simply beautiful. I think we managed also managed to bring in yet another touch from the Argentinian flag - this time the pattern. Two same-colored lines with a lighter color in between.
The plan
I will be saying the same things as I've said during my scouting, and as I've said when I applied for an expansion team. The goal of the team is fairly simple for me. I want to help create a team, a club and an environment that which all its members can enjoy the league through. A place that enriches the experience of the SSL and to make sure that Buenos Aires becomes a strong presence. I look to the work that both Montreal and Catalunya have done and I applaud them for their amazing work. They came in as the very first expansion teams and truly established themselves in a short period of time - and I hope that we can follow in their footsteps.
With 3 first round picks coming in to this draft, I am truly looking forward to see what kind of people I can bring in to take my vision into reality.
Once again, I would like to thank Thunder for his amazing job and the BoD for the faith they are putting in me for this. And a big shoutout to the small squad we have already assembled through the expansion draft. You are awesome.
