A Deep Dive into VFE vs. SLK

SLK came out in dominating fashion as we all witnessed Chopper Donquioxte and crew get absolutely rolled on the field a few days ago. In this deep dive, I will cover what went wrong for the Eagles, what went right for SLK, and how the Eagles can improve in their games to come as they are currently sitting at the bottom of the table. To start things off SLK came out strong and maintained a lot of possession. For those of you who don't know who Julian Rubio is yet, I would familiarize yourself with him because his name will be mentioned plenty in this deep dive. It seemed that every challenge of significance went SLK’s way as they were constantly pushing the ball into VFE’s goal box. The goaltending performance by VFE’s keeper, “Sweeper The Keeper” was lackluster to say the least. As of the time of writing this Sweeper has given up 13 goals over the course of five games. This breaks down to an average of 2.6 goals per game. Sweeper ended up giving up 5 goals this game including 2 in particular that he should have saved. Now this is not all Sweeper’s fault. Stockholm started with an early strike by Rubio as the giant buried the goal with ease. Then in the 20th minute Skovsgardd played a beautiful cross to Rbuio as he notched his second of the night. Then it was Rubio with the assist this time as he set up Peixoto with an easy tap in goal. Rubio was played another ball from the midfield in the 40th minute that he buried past Sweeper and secured his hat trick before the half even ended. Then to top it all off a 5th goal was scored and the already deflated balloon that was the Eagles were void of air. The Eagle’s offense looked lost as their formation looked more like a Jackson Pollock painting rather than a fortified football formation. There were legitimate defensive challenges made even by the smallest of players like Chopper Donquioxte who made an attempt to slow down SLK’s onslaught of shots. Despite the valiant efforts only so much damage could be prevented as the trainwreck that was VFE’s defense continued to fumble every opportunity to move the ball forward and create solid opportunities for the VFE forwards. One of Chopper’s signature traits is “Plays Killer Balls” which has to deal with being over aggressive when playing through balls to his teammates on the attack. Chopper is also proficient when it comes to crossing and while both were on display neither had a significant enough effect to impact the Eagle’s attack. I think in order for Chopper to make a better impact Chopper needs to increase his skills when it comes to corner kicks as VFE is relying on him to make solid passes to them. Furthermore Chopper can adopt a trait such as running up the side or cutting into the middle of the field so that he can see some more action in the game.
