The Sydney City Massacre *VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED*
#1
It was a beautiful thursday afternoon. The birds were chirping, the sun was peaking through a partly cloudy sky. Everything seemed right in the world.....Until it wasn't.

Before the darkness consumed the world Noot and Chambers allowed their friendship and their connection continue to grow. In the fifth minute of the Atletico Medellin Sydney City game Noot curved a corner directly into Chambers waiting head which squarely put away the first goal of the game. It appeared Atletico's magic was going to continue. They came into the game on a red hot streak yet to lose with Noot on the roster. But within one minute the darkness began to creep in as Sydney's Maggie Sinclair received a through ball and smashed the ball into the upper right corner to make it a tied ballgame. None of this should have ever happened. Maggie was clearly offsides when receiving the ball but the must be blind as a bat because despite looking at it in VAR they STILL gave the goal to Sydney City.

The next goal I will admit was poorly defended by the goalkeeper Mr. Twinkletoes but the defense also left the left side of the field completely unguarded allowing Fry to receive a pass from Emerson and slide it in for a 2-1 Sydney advantage. It was only the 15th minute and 3 goals had been scored so it was looking like it might be a slugfest. However, the rest of the first half went without incident. Besides Bamford getting put in the book with a yellow card the first half was fairly quiet. Some might even say it favored Atletico. Even though they were down a goal they had maintained the majority of possession and were fairly close in chances and shots. The second half however, would tell a very different story.

It was the 53rd minute and Emerson had the ball at the edge of the box when with his left foot shot it toward the goal. Thinking he was doing his job, Chambers got in the way but instead the ball ricocheted off his back and into the net to make it 3-1. Had he not stood where he was Twinkletoes was in position for the easy save but Chambers caused the deflection that lead to the unfortunate goal. The fight wasn't completely over because Atletico refused to go down easy and two minutes later Gaisberg's first goal of the season brought the game back within one.

It only took another 2 minutes before Sydney struck back with the giant Hohehahn getting behind the defense and scoring a one-on-one goal to make it a 2 goal advantage for Sydney once again. I'm not sure if being 10 feet tall is legal in soccer but we might want to get that checked. Either way it may have hurt him in the end because he was a centimeter offsides and the goal was disallowed meaning Atletico were still only one goal away from tying this game up.

There would be a few wonderful saves from Twinkletoes but the Atletico attack had dissipated and in the 80th minute, the flood gates opened. First it was Anderdaughter sniping the bottom right of the goal scoring their first goal of the season. Three minutes later Anderdaughter replicated the shot in the other side of the goal scoring two goals in a span of three minutes. Then in extra time the Sydney City legend Emerson hit a banger from the edge of the box to crush the hopes and dreams of all Atletico fans in attendance as the  final score read 6-2 advantage Sydney City. In a span of 10 minutes a one score game blossomed into a four score difference as Atletico will need to rebound from a devastating loss as they fight to stay in the hunt for the Academy Crown.

I see you have succumb to the glory that is Sydney City. From one fellow keeper to another, I almost felt bad for Mr. Twinkletoes. Yet, I was not surprised in the least that Twinkletoes let in so many goals. I couldn't believe I let in 2 goals, but that was mostly due to the knowledge that the sieve on the other side of the pitch was going to give us come cushion, so I didn't want to over exert myself in this obvious win. Here are a few pointers I can give you from the time I've been in the academy:

1. Don't suck.
2. Be better.

Really, it's that simple, you see. Just yell at your teammates enough so that they give you an ounce of help, or just don't let the ball go past you so much. Stop the ball = don't need your teammates to score as much = winning. That's the formula for victory. Is Atletico playing golf out there, where they think that having less points is better? Sometimes it would seem that way as Twinkletoes just can't help himself in allowing the other team to get a higher score.

Please hit me up if you need any other advice, always happy to help a fellow keeper.
