Blockbuster Trade or Box Office Flop?
#1
A massive overpay or a shrewd bargain, only time will tell whether Hollywood Football Club will come out ahead with their blockbuster trade to acquire Alex Calderon at sixth overall in the Season 18 prospect draft. What did it take to obtain the defender who grew up just down the road from his new club? Today we'll look at the cost to make the trade to acquire Calderon, and what the picks given eventually turned into.

Hollywood FC sent pick nine, twenty-eight, and thirty six, which were in rounds two, four, and five respectively. They essentially paid a fourth and a fifth to slide their second round pick up three spots back into the first. At pick nine, Romana took Rigby Emerson, a Right Attacking Mid created by @Thelastheraclid, a sim league veteran who this writer has had the pleasure of spending at least one team with over the years. An excellent pick to kick off the second round, Emerson should help Romana shore up its forward depth nicely.

At pick twenty-eight, Romana selected Center Defensive Mid Dizzy Martin created by user @Lawlore. I'm unfamiliar with this user, but Martin managed seven caps and contributed quite well to the Atletico side. With an impressive 91.26% passing and several contributions to the Atletico attack, Dizzy Martin could prove to be a valuable asset for Romana's future. Lastly, at pick thirty-six, Romana selected wingback Grand Boyer @grandboyer. This player has excellent pace and acceleration and will be ready to step right into their new team and instantly make an impact.

We'll be keeping an eye on Calderon's progress as well as the players taken with the picks given up to acquire Calderon to see how it all plays out.
