League and Cup Champions

For the first time since S14 we have a new team at the top of the Minor League! Congratulations to Montréal United for winning their first cup in franchise history. The Major League was decided on the final matchday with 3 teams within reach of the trophy. After all games were played Reykjavik United took home the hardware and followed it up with their second consecutive SSL Cup win later in the week.

Off-Season

This upcoming Monday (March 31st) marks the start of the off-season and as usual some pieces of information to note.

Pending FA period
Any player that is on an expiring contract (no contract signed for S20) is considered a pending free agent at the start of the off-season. Organizations may at that time contact a pending FA and negotiate a contract. Players picked in the expansion draft are given the pending FA status on Thursday to give the expansion managers the time to negotiate extension contracts.

Any Pending FA is not a free agent until the start of the next season thus they may still sign an extension with their current team during the week without reducing the team's transfer budget. We just make to make one thing clear: A manager may not force a player to provide intent to sign. This week is intended for players to be able to talk to teams and be shown alternatives for how their future may look.

Re-rolls and redistribution
S18 players have one last chance this week to submit a re-roll or redistribution for their player via the portal.

Due to the changes with the portal, the new draft class will officially start up on April 7th with the start of the new season. Any players creating during the week of March 31st to April 6th will not be approved until the following week.

SSL Prospect Draft and Next Draft Class
We are also gearing up for the SSL Prospect that is set to take place on April 6th at TBA!

Regression and Portal
Regression will be run on Monday or Tuesday next week and the resulting TPE will be directly removed from each affected player's TPE total. A regression post will be published on the forum which will also indicate players that are automatically retired.

The deadline for regressing your player in the portal is April 11th..
