GRADED: Díabhí Barr - Heart and Seoul [Day In the Life part 3]

Walking down a busy airport terminal, I can hardly get my brain to focus on putting one foot in front of another. It feels like just yesterday I was on a cold Dublin street, and now I'm in bloody Australia of all places. Not only that, but I'll be flying to my 3rd new continent in the span of a year. The draft went by like a flash, but I can still hear the Commissioner call out my name. "With the 4th overall pick, CF Catalunya selects Díabhí Barr" the 4th overall pick! I can still hardly believe it. My mum had to nudge her elbow into my rib cage to get me to stand up and go to the podium. It was great seeing her and dad again, but it was far too short. A familiar voice pulls me back to Earth and this stuffy, boiling Sydney airport. "Hey, hermano, everything bueno? You look worried eh?" it's the unmistakable thoughtfulness of someone who has become one of my closest friends over the last year. Somewhere among all the trades and 10s of draft picks, my Medellin teammate Andres [@aegis] has ended up on Seoul with me. I didn't even realize during the draft itself, but he came up to me when the night was wrapping up and gave me a big hug. "It was meant to be eh, cabron? I just can't get rid of you" he told me while shaking my shoulders. I'm very glad to have him on my side again, it feels good to not have to go through another culture shock by myself. Since we're all flying to Seoul from Sydney together, I've also had a bit of a chance to meet my other new teammates. Some are more quiet then others, but Badrick Blackwood [@denisbigfan1], from Port Royal, leaves no room for imagination in terms of his personality. "Fiyah fi bun Korean Air!" I hear echo through the terminal in a strong, unmistakable Jamaican Patois accent "Blaadclaat delays mon.... mi a mash up dis place!" It seems our flight has been delayed by 15 minutes. I sit down on a chair a close my eyes, allowing the heat to flow over me as I slowly drift into a little nap.
