Djimrabaye Jr. - Success and Struggles
#1
Hello SSL, I am Porter Rose, former SBA player and now sports writer for Eagle Eye Times. Today I am here to talk about the newest member of the SSL. Central African Republican wingback Maximus Djimrabaye Jr. has had a wild year that has caused him to join the SSL waiver wire after the inaugural draft. Let's get right into how it went down.

The day today is December 5th, 2021. Exactly 2 weeks after MDJ turned 18. One year ago today he had just turned 17 and was starting in the first game of the high school season. He was the captain of the varsity team, starting at right back. He played for the Miami High Gators, they were facing their intra-city rivals, the East Miami Cyclones. The Gators were up 3-1, when in the 63rd minute, Max went on a run past their center backs and got taken out by the keeper. The keeper received a yellow card for this, but it was much worse for Max. He was taken off the field and after closer review it turned out he had hyperextended his knee. His doctor said he would be hopeful to play by mid January. However during one of the regular checkups a couple weeks later, the doctor found that Max's ACL had been injured. His earliest return would be just 4 games before the end of the season. Max was devasted, but he knew his health was more important if he wanted to go further in soccer. He sat out and came back an absolute demon. After his return the team went 4-0, had 4 clean sheets, Max was able to get 9 assists in just 4 games, and even a goal. He was back at his peak form and was getting offers to play for some youth academies, some colleges, but he decided he wanted to go pro as soon as possible. He struggled to find anywhere to play, but then he got an offer from the SSL, they were preparing for the inaugural draft and he decided to join. However during the physical examination he was not cleared to join the draft. He was told he may have to sit all of S1 because his ACL was still in danger of being injured. He tried everything, but he just wouldn't be able to get cleared. However, he found a loophole where he was allowed to get a 2nd opinion and that would warrant another party to give him an examination. After going through with that process he was miraculously cleared to play, and that's how we got to this point. He's ready to go and we'll see what he can do with this opportunity he was gifted.
