I'm sure ill mess up somewhere in this attempt at an article but just bear with me! Let's see where the academy class of 17 are today! This class had a total of 29 total players, with 7 of them being free agents at this moment. But for this deep dive I will only be looking at the top 5 players (according to TPE totals in the draft class tracker). To everyone outside the top 5, its nothing personal, just looking to hit a word count here, try again next time!
#1 Rouquefort Cotswold
Rockfart is a LD for União São Paulo, sitting at 1391 TPE at this very moment. I'm not surprised to see him at the top of this list, he has made an impact in just about every league I've seen him join, including this one. He even talked me into joining this league! And while he may not be on the leader board for this season right now, I'm sure he has made quite the impact in União São Paulo helping them to be on top of the standings this season.
#2 Hercule Hefeweizen
Wiggli is currently a CDM for the Hollywood FC and is at 1387 TPE, not too far behind number 1. Hercule is currently on the top 10 leader board for successful passes, at number 8 with 1040. Wiggli is no stranger to the sim league world, another great user and Hollywood made a great choice by picking up this user!
#3 Hippity Hoppity
Love the name! I'm always a fan of silly names. User bfan8475 is currently a RD for A.C. Romana, Sitting at 1345 TPE. While A.C might be at the start of a rebuild, I'm sure bfan is an important part of their defense and will be a key part of the team for many seasons to come! and just like the other, bfan can be found in just about every other sim league around.
#4 Mikko Rashford II
Ah, the 1st ST in the list, RashfordU, another standout user is a player for Reykjavik United, sitting at 1335 TPE at this very moment! Currently he is on the top 10 leader boards for goals (19) and POTM (7), I'm still learning how things work around here, but being on the leaderboards is pretty awesome and I'm sure he's a big reason behind the team being #2 in the standings.
#5 Louie Duck
xjoverax is a RD for the CA Buenos Aires club, sitting at 1287. Seems like a trend here with more players creating at defense this draft class than offense. Great pick up by Buenos Aires here, as their defense isn't super young, but they do have a couple of young defenders in the pipeline from the minors
This class was just a little bit bigger than the previous class, the next couple of classes will keep getting larger and larger. 1 thing I did notice while writing this up, and it should be no Suprise to anyone that has been around for a bit, but União São Paulo absolutely killed it when drafting 3 top users from the class of 17 and 4 from the class of 18, no surprise that they have been on top for the majority of this season.
If you've made it this far, I'm sorry you had to read all of that, I won't ever do that again, writing is not my strong suit, not that I have a strong suit, but Ive gotta find a way to earn TPE someway!
