Official Player Update – Pyrenees Union National Team
Issued by: Pyrenees Union Football Federation
Date: June 13, 2025
Subject: State of the Squad – Mid-Year Report

Six months have passed since Pyrenees Union captivated the world with its run to the semifinals of the World Simulation Football Classic. The squad exceeded expectations, blending organization, aggression, and technical quality in a breakthrough tournament campaign. With the next WSFC now only half a year away, the Pyrenees Union Football Federation offers a full player-by-player update on the current senior team.

Nathan Cormier - Spain - Centerback - Hollywood FC  HFC
The centerpiece of the Pyrenees back line and arguably one of the best defenders in the SSL. Cormier has had a near-flawless season at Hollywood FC, bringing command, calmness, and elite distribution to one of the league’s better defenses. His anticipation and ability to break lines with his passing make him irreplaceable. Cormier remains the bedrock upon which this team is built.

Roquefort Cotswold - France - Wingback - União São Paulo  USP
One of the most improved players in the squad over the last 12 months. Cotswold’s influence at União São Paulo continues to grow, his overlapping runs, cutbacks, and relentless work rate make him a true two-way threat. His service from wide areas could be a decisive tool in tight WSFC knockout games.

Julian Rubio - Andorra - Striker - União São Paulo  USP
Rubio has emerged as one of the best strikers in the SSL. Already the team’s leading scorer during the last WSFC, he’s added sharper off-ball movement and improved finishing to his game. His performances in a highly structured União side prove he can thrive in both open and possession-based systems. A locked-in starter at the 9.

Calvin Ball - Spain - Goalkeeper - CD Tenochtitlan  Tenochtitlan
Ball continues to justify his status as the national team’s first-choice goalkeeper. He’s been among the SSL’s most consistent keepers this season, combining elite shot-stopping with improved ball distribution. With Cormier and Peixoto in front of him, Ball gives Pyrenees Union one of the most stable defensive spines in the international game.

João Peixoto - Portugal - Centerback - União São Paulo USP
A powerful, composed defender, Peixoto has thrived in a back three at club level. He brings an aggressive edge to the Pyreneese defense, strong in the tackle and comfortable carrying the ball into midfield. He’ll likely rotate in depending on the tactical setup.

Chef Gagne - France - Defensive Midfielder - União São Paulo USP
The silent operator in midfield. Gagne’s game isn’t flashy, but it’s foundational, he breaks up play, simplifies transitions, and provides some of the most beautiful passes you’ve ever seen. His positional intelligence has only sharpened, and his role at club level mirrors what he brings to the national team.

Kurt Lightning - Spain - Defensive Midfielder - Hollywood FC HFC
The team’s most experienced international. Lightning has been a cornerstone of the Pyrenees Union setup since its inception, known for his intensity, leadership, and tireless midfield coverage. Now in the later stages of his career, questions are beginning to surface about whether he can maintain his trademark engine through another high-stakes international campaign.

Andrés Pedrillo - Spain - Central Midfielder - A.C. Romana ACR
Pedrillo has grown into one of the most intelligent midfielders in the SSL. His passing tempo, vision, and control under pressure make him a natural orchestrator. When Pyrenees Union wants to dominate possession or manage tempo, he’ll be a critical piece. Expect him to play alongside Gagne or Lightning depending on the match plan.

Bernardo Fry - Andorra - Left Midfielder - CF Catalunya CFCat
Fry is a creative wildcard. At CF Catalunya he’s operated both wide and tucked inside, bringing unpredictability to every match. While still somewhat inconsistent, his ability to pick a pass and disrupt defensive lines makes him a dangerous option, especially against deep blocks or in matches where the Pyrneese Union needs a spark.

Ben Harrison - Spain - Wingback - CA Buenos Aires BA
Harrison has spent the season working as a true wide outlet in Argentina. His speed, engine, and commitment to overlapping runs give the Pyrenees Union natural width on the left. While his defending can still be tested, his energy and willingness to stretch the field make him a valuable tactical option.

Leandro Dybala - Spain - Winger - AS Paris Paris
Dybala has been a key creative force playing off the right wing during AS Paris’s title-winning season. His brilliant passing and vision helped unlock defenses and create chances at crucial moments. With his ability to deliver precise final balls and influence the game in tight spaces, he is an important creative option for the Pyrenees Union and will look to build on this success in the upcoming tournament.

Looking Ahead:

The core of Pyrenees Union’s WSFC semifinal team remains intact, but they’re not standing still. Most players have taken steps forward at the club level, whether through leadership, consistency, or tactical evolution. With six months to prepare, the coaching staff is confident this group can not only match its last run, but surpass it.

Training camp dates and pre-tournament friendlies will be announced in the coming months.
