MEDELLIN CENTER, MEDELLÍN -
It was quiet in the locker room. Our game against PS Jakarta ended in a rather frustrating draw, and we all had a right to be frustrated with ourselves. We had opportunity after opportunity to score, and no one could seem to find the back of the net. The eye test shows we were the better team, but we couldn't seal the deal. I've only gotten two games here in the SSL Academy division, and this was easily my worst game. At least in the game against Istanbul, I actually managed to find the scoresheet with an assist. But here at my new home? I couldn't hit anyone or the back of the net on my own.
That's enough gloom for now. I know there are things to work on, as every game reveals something new to work on. I got the ball taken from my feet a little too easily, so I'll put some work in this week to fixing my dribbling. I also didn't find myself open enough, so I should also work on my positioning more to make sure I can get the ball from my teammates with time to turn, and then be able to get it back to them as my window of opportunity begins to shrink.
I should also try and get to know the others a little better. It would certainly make getting them the ball easier if I know how they play, and that comes with getting to know them and playing with them, which both take some time. We've got another game soon, so not too much time to prepare. We'll be heading to the home of Victoria Falls, so better get some rest tonight while I have time.
We will get better, and we will win next time!
