Hello folks,
Your annoying voice Pablo Kawasaki here, who has been part of your amazing team of commentators who put in a lot of time during this season, to hopefully elevate your experience when watching the games.
With this article though, I will rank my top 10 names of players that I enjoy announcing, whether it could be from their play, their name, or silly reasons. I will go through, and say who I have enjoyed calling out to the airwaves!
10. The Skovgaards - Which Skovgaard is it? Doesn't matter, when there were multiple ones, you can likely guess their name was coming, and you would be right. Definitely a fun group to call out who always found a way to get involved in the game, especially when playing against one another.
9. Viktoria Snooks - This one is always an interesting one because the name itself forces you to stop for a quick moment to change the voice pattern you are currently working on to get the "Sn" sound. So in a way it allows for the commentator to get your name a little more hpye as it would be at the start of the breath. Interesting one for sure!
8 - Gibrahimovic and Ibruhimovic - I am combining both of these, as just with the personality of the real Ibra, we can add a little flair to both of these names when calling them out. I personally like to emphasize the "bruh" in Ibruhimovic as a player, just to highlight the play. Both being forwards as well definitely add to the appeal of a good call as they are likely on that finishing touch.
7. Alessandro Del Pirlo - Obviously a name that just rolls of the tongue easily, and makes you even have the hand gestures going as you say it. One of the highlight players of the league, which makes it always a thrill especially if they are amongst a quick passing play, to quickly say the names as fast as possible to join with the speed of the game.
6. Thomas Hohenhahn - Amazing choice of a name to commentate. It's a bit of a mouthful to say at times, but as the player is on a run, you can really emphasize the name, and stick to each syllable and grow as the chance gets closer and closer. Always a threat in the air as well, the header as it goes into the net can allow for the growth to allow for that "hahn" to get with power.
5. Academic Victim - Hopefully they stick with it, and stay active as a rookie. I am just ready for all the puns that can be incorporated with their name. This is a hopeful ranking for their future!
4. Barr, Fry, Moff, Flip etc - Any one syllable name is always a win, just for the sake of easy to say in the moment. Thank you for your contribution.
3. Zyqwarndalethron Velstrazyn-Smith - Alright, I will need a backstory on this name, but man it always gives me a laugh when just seeing that name. When the new commentators came in and saw the name, they each gave a little choke just looking at that first name. The hypenated last name with a Smith, just adds that hilariousness for myself to go with an unusual name, with the most common name.
2. Goku Atliketwopercent - I've had way too much fun with this last name, relating to battery charge, energy levels, and more with this players name. Just so much potential with two percent and plays of the game. What silly pun to come up with next?
1. George Shaheen - Very anticlimactic, but man very similar to the name of Snooks, Shaheen falls into that same category. What separates it, instead of the harsher sound of the "snoo", you can really stretch the "eeee" sound on "heen". Just a really fun name to say!
