It’s way better than my initial judgement when I couldn’t tell what it actually was. Still would rank it around Buenos Aires as a badge that would benefit from some outlines to add contrast. Because unless it’s zoomed it everything becomes an unclear red blob.

By the way, the colourway is the colours of the Senyera which is the coat of arms of the Crown of Aragon. You also see it on the Estelada, which is a Catalan independence flag.

How would you rank the newer teams as well?

From a branding perspective?

Ivorian Masques: A, hits on everything Seoul hits on. Just a really good design.

Guatemalan Birds: B, basically same issues as North Shore badge, but as a Spurs fan I like birds standing on balls. Would be a C without my bias.

Madagascar Trees: S, I love both badge variations that I’ve seen. Great color scheme and integration of their location.

Dublin Catholics: A, it’s not exactly an original concept, but it’s a really cool take on a played out one. Exceeded my expectations.

Firstly I would like to thank you @gucci for writing this to allow me to do a 200 word critique on such a fun an easy topic it is very much appreciated when no other leagues have PTs and I am current sitting on a beach in Italy.

Let's start with your S Tier: CD Tenochtitlan i completely agree with this is a great badge and team a good all round pick to start off with. AS Paris however I disagree, teams in big European cities come from a part of the city (we will see this again later lol) so I don't think this gives enough to tell us where in Paris it comes from and the real identity of the club, this is a B tier for me.

A Tier: I have very little issue here with what you have said, all three of Seoul MFC, Reykjavik United, Rapid Magyar SC are really good choices, I would even push Rapid up to S as it is a great combo of name, badge and location.

B Tier: We are going to have disagreements here, I really like União São Paulo, I feel like they could really be a real team, the name, the badge, the colours all seem extremely well though out and should be pushed to A. Krung Thep FC you do well with their ranking and it is a great team to have in the league. Tokyo S.C. however I don't like, I want more from this and it feels to generic and was put there by people who want a Japanese team, C for me. Inter London I have a real problem with, no London team, has London in its name, and what does Inter have to do with England?! A team based in Brixton or Hackney or any London borough would be far better not to mention not using Wanderers or Albion or any of the fun English names, F Tier for me!

C Tier: Now Shanghai Dragons FC is spot on here no disagreements, but F.C. Kaapstad (my own team!) Should be lower, there are so many better african location than this. Hollywood FC I think should be at least B, I love the theme and idea of this club, it gives that glamour and think could fit in well to the MLS.

D Tier: CA Buenos Aires deserves this place no issues, as does North Shore United, a maori themed badge and a better NZ location could really help it. Athênai F.C. and A.C. Romana I both like and could be pushed up the Tier list for me, but I agree new badges could really help this.

F Tier: No real issues here, maybe CF Catalunya could be in C or D but Cairo City and Montréal United deserve your scorn.

Any way thank you again for letting me comment and get a PT done!

I’m a little conflicted by some of the branding rankings here. I think certainly some of the lowest brandings are valid – Cairo I think historically has had a pretty tough time getting any support. However, I think Montréal has pretty decent design with regards to the badge even if I’m not a huge fan of the color scheme, specifically the green stripe, and it looks like it’s a section of some kind of tapestry or wallpaper with a repeating pattern. I’d be tempted to move it to D at a minimum – F just feels like it doesn’t make sense and should be reserved for the worst of the worst. Among the D-tier logos, I would be tempted to move Athenai’s and AC Romana’s up.

On the other end of the spectrum, I’m not especially a fan of Schwarzwalder FC’s badge. I get it’s “iconic” for the league, but I suspect that’s more driven by the club’s historical success and subsequently rosy-tinted interpretation of its design; the colors are similarly odd and it’s inclusive of the letters ‘sfv’ with little else to speak for it. I would agree with a high ranking of Tenochtitlán, Seoul, Reykjavik, and Rapid Magyar, though perhaps I’d save “S-tier” for only one logo and make the grades a bit closer to a bell curve; otherwise the criteria just feels a bit loose. Better yet, as I’ve said for other tier lists in the last, maybe we just take out S entirely and do a left-to-right ranking within each tier. [253]
