Academy Task 5: Through the eyes of the BeNeLux national coach
#1
For the academy task 5, I will dive into the available players to build the best possible team for the BeNeLux side of things in the Simulation Soccer League. There are 21 players to fill the starting 11 and 10 subs. Based on the available players after a bit of puzzling I have settled on a 4-2-3-1 system. This way it was the easiest to implement all the best players mostly in their primary position. Furious Chicken will be retiring after the current season, so for the future view of the BeNeLux team, the angry bird will get an honory seat on the grand stand.

Let's start off with the GK position. There are unfortunately not a lot of talented goalkeepers in the BeNeLux area. We have current academy graduate Maarten Slothlenburg who has to step up early in his career to defend the net of the nation. As a backup we have inactive since S14, Lewis Monsieur.

The four players stopping the opposition attackers are on LD S20 graduate Draz Tathille, currently classed as inactive, but still a strong enough showing to warrant a spot in the starting 11. The central duo consists of Aart de Trella and Don Lorenzo. Aart nowadays plays for CF Catalunya where Don Lorenzo is currently active playing for Athênai F.C. The defence will be completed by current free agent Jan van Doorne.

Our first CDM is star player Hercule Hefeweizen, current player of Hollywood FC. Hercule will be accompanied by Tokyo S.C.'s Ronflex.

Moving one line forward on the LAM position we have Nerve de Groot. WIth a current TPE of 1302, he is behind Hefeweizen the highest in the squad and therefore a no-brainer to position on the left wing. On the right wing in the RAM role we have Zach Mulder, another one of the highest TPE players in the nation. Both players feature on the União Sao Paulo team so they bring a natural chemistry to the BeNeLux attacking line. A.C. Romana RAM Ryan van Eyndhoven I will position in the CAM position. With the wings taken by some very strong players, Ryan is too good to keep out of the starting 11.

The same goes for Carolien Miedema. Teammate of Aart de Trella at CF Catalunya will for most be the biggest surprise in this formation. The from origine RM will play as the teams Striker. Too good to be left out, so has to play at their chosen secondary position.

The team will look as follows:

---------------------- Miedema ---------------------
--- de Groot ---- van Eyndhoven ---- Mulder -----
---------- Hefeweizen ---- Ronflex -----------------
Tathille ---- de Trella ---- Lorenzo ---- van Doorne
------------------- Slothlenburg --------------------

On the bench we feature a combination of inactive free agents and S22 academy graduates

Overloaded with attacking midfielders we have LAM Fiery Chicken, CAMs Joseph Mathys Hendry and Franz van Grimbergen and finally RAM Ozzy Trent Kovács. They will all have to fight for a place on the team once the current stars retire.
Outside of the academy graduates there are a couple free agents, unlikely to improve but still good enough to keep the bench warm in RM Labamba Ball, LD's Axel Blaze and Timo Geurts, earlier mentioned GK Lewis Monsieur and ST Nachi Bergkamp.

Overall a strong looking team with plenty of upcoming talent. I foresee a succesful future for this national team.

This concludes the deep dive into the BeNeLux team.

Sincerely, Bas Steekpaas - Daily Local
