I figured it was finally time to introduce myself, both as a player and as a person since I have found my home in the Shanghai Dragons organization.
Username is theevilisback, which was created WAY back in 1999 when I started playing online and has followed me ever since. I started playing Unreal Tournament and eventually found my way into Counter-Strike when it was a mod through until it became Source, then moved to Call of Duty as a semi-pro playing for a LAN center as a team captain (you can actually find some snippets of the team on the wayback machine.)
I've been a big gamer my whole life, including doing sim soccer stuff for many years, but more at the manager level than a player sim. Playing tons of FC/FIFA helped me shape my player and decided on trying to play some sims. I started in the SHL as I have been a lifelong fan of hockey and the NHL and thanks to a referral post saw the SSL. After talking with my referrals and another friend we all decided to make players here based on how we play in FC in our club, which for me was as an AMC with a focus on scoring. Thanks to the draft and my new position in Shanghai I was more than happy to move to Striker and hopefully make my mark as a lead scorer in the franchise. Knowing they are on their way up is a nice relief as the expectations might be a little tempered compared to going immediately for a title. It'll be fun to see how well I do in a new position that has a similar feel... I wonder if I'll still be pass heavy or if I'll turn into the sniper for those corners like I became late in the season in FC 25.
