Rashford's Scoring Keeps Reykjavik Rolling
#1
Reykjavik United just keeps on rolling.

Two more matches. Two more wins. Six total victories on the season. A lone draw. Zero losses.

With 19 table points, they have maintained a slight two-point edge over Uniao Sao Paulo, who represents Reykjavik’s lone non-win outcome so far in the S22 SSL Majors campaign.

On Matchday 6, Reykjavik topped Xelaju Cosmico FC in an impressive 3-0 finish. They were led by right attacking midfielder George Shaheen, who scored, logged an assist, and earned a match rating of 9.5 to earn person of the match honors. Also scoring goals were – of course – Mikko Rashford II along with Alessandro Del Pirlo.

On Matchday 7, it was a 1-0 clean sheet against Schwarzwalder FV. Scoring the lone goal for Reykjavik? You guessed it, Mikko Rashford II, who continues to show himself as the SSL’s premiere goal-scoring machine.

So far on the young season, Rashford has found the back of the net nine times in seven contests. He has peppered opposing goal keepers with an onslaught of 18 total shots on target, seven more than any other player in the league. That number is not over-inflated by a rash of random shots. In total, Rashford has taken 24 shots overall, meaning only six of his shots taken so far this season have NOT been on target.

Goal keepers should be afraid – very afraid – when Rashford is on the pitch.

His torrid scoring pace is keeping Reykjavik out in front, and is showing no signs of slowing.
