A taste of the trading block.

The Liffeyside / Rova management are good folks.

When they recruited Tlacaelel Tepoztli, they took note of my desire to have him toggle between wingback and shadow striker. As early season tactics emerged, TT settled in entirely at shadow striker. I think I asked at most twice whether I might also see some wingback time before the season drew to a close.

And, no. The roster we had didn't really have the positional versatility to allow that just yet. No worries. I'm a rookie, I shouldn't be a prima donna. I happily play wingback and patiently wait for developments.

Then, a most unexpected development: I'm offered a chance to talk with another club, who might have an interest in Tlacaelel, but who also might have more positional versatility available for his future. This was unprompted, and a kindness by the Liffeyside / Rova management, who remembered my interest in position toggling.

I chatted with the other team, and found they didn't really have any more of the positional versatility I had in mind. Tlacaelel might have grown into a great wingback with them, but a wingback above all else. If stuck in a single position, it felt better to stick with the organization that drafted me, and that could expect to see the most change (as tends to happen with expansion franchises).

So, Tlacaelel stays with Rova, and stays at shadow striker. And with gratitude to both Rova's leadership and the other team I chatted with, he looks to what changes the future may bring.

A nice look-in at the management style of Liffeyside and TT's continued desire to be a tactically versatile tool that makes game-planning stressful for the opposition. I felt a deeper narrative could have been developed to get it to the maximum score, but this brought a smile to my face.
