Bodhi Grizz steps up to a podium. His eyes looking at the small group of interviewers staring at him expectedly. Nerves setting in slightly in front of the group.
"Hello... uh. I'm Bodhi Grizz. And this is my declaring for the Academy League of the SSL." He stammers out. Unsure of what to do next. When an interviewer raises their hand. He nods to them in acknowledgement.
"Hello there Bodhi. What position do you play and what are you looking to accomplish with the Academy this season?"
Bodhi blinks for a second then nods again. "Well... The position i like to play is a defensive midfielder. Specifically, if I'm placed more towards the center of the field. I like to be the first line of defense for my team. The idea that the ball has to go through me or around me makes me want to try harder..." He says a little nervously. Unsure if that was an adequate answer. "As for what I want to accomplish.... I just want to be useful. To help stop the ball from getting to my goal and then making sure I can get it to one of the forwards to push the attack. If i can become a wall in the middle of our side of the field then i will be happy with my time in the Academy" He confidently admits. Nodding at his own answer. That's the exact kind of player Bodhi wants to be. A wall for his team. One that keeps the ball from getting to the goal. Or at least making it go the long way around.
The next interviewer raises their hand. "Are there any teams you have in mind that you would like to be a part of? Both in the Academy and the SSL?" They ask pen to paper ready for his answer.
Bodhi cocks his head to the side. Not really sure how to answer this. After what felt like an eternity thinking he shakes his head. "Not really? I guess? Academy wise i just want to help my fellow rookies make good showings of themselves. And for the SSL I'd probably like to go somewhere nice. i hear Tokyo and Sao Paulo are nice. Same goes for Hollywood, that place is fancy! Oh! London too. Though I'm not sure I'd enjoy the British food much and would have to share a bit of the southern soul food I'm used to." He says getting more into the idea of travel than what team he'd rather play for.
Another interviewer raises their hand drawing his attention before speaking "One last question Bodhi. What is your final goal for your career? Are you trying to be a hall of famer? Maybe a record setter?"
Bodhi shakes his head immediately. "Nah. I'd say that I'm just trying to play my game. If my peers decide later in my career that I'm a great then good for them. But I just wanna play my best ball and show everyone that i won't be no slouch in the grand scheme."
With that the interview concludes. Bodhi confident that he gave the answers he could. Even if he got off topic on one of them.
