There might be a genuine answer for this, I just don’t know it, but who usually ends up being the person to do the whole Set Pieces thing? Is it just whoever increases the attribute? Is it usually a Wing Back or a Midfielder? Is it someone short? I know there’s usually one for each side for corners at least, since you want the swing to be symmetrical or whatever, but I’ve never really thought about who takes that TPE hit until now.
Considering how important they’ve seemed to be in my FM24 experience, I would imagine they play a huge part in SSL tactics as well, as an easy way to increase your team’s goal-scoring capabilities. Or is it one of those things that people know are so easy to score with that they overcompensate to defend them, rendering the whole thing a wash?
I know a lot of the meta is essentially “get bodies in the box and hope one of them can shoot”, so it would make sense for corners and the like to be really important, but I’m not sure whether it’s something I’ll need to, or would find value in, investing for my own player’s success as an SSLer.
