Well, that marks the conclusion of my Academy season. It was marked mostly by running to a front row seat to the goals against. In fact, if I were one of the game officials, it would have been a truly spectacular showing. It was tough to follow, with most of the shown gameplay being excellent chances against, often resulting in goals.

But it wasn’t all bad. Kaspars scored a goal this season, and honestly, it was a pretty nice one. He advanced the ball well, and was disciplined with his playmaking. He got better as the season went on at beating the attackers, pushing them to the outside, edging them out for possession. His role became a bit more offensive than he was used to, as the team needed someone who could advance the ball responsibly. It did mean a lot of running box to box, but usually coming right back as the long bomb passes ended up being largely giveaways. I don’t imagine he’ll be playing that role much in the future, but it’s always good to get a more dynamic perspective, and respect the positioning and tactical systems from other vantages.

Stockholm had a tough season, but it’s taught many lessons that will be useful over the course of Kalinins’ career. The Draft is coming sooner every day, and it will be on to more permanent systems soon!

I'm sure Kalinlins career will have plenty more highlights.
