#2 Rookie Season [Now Open to S23 Players]
https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showt...7#pid83357

Silver had no expectations moving from Medellin to Paris. He didn't expect to find much more success moving into the professional tier of the SSL. He figured maybe his numbers would look a little better, and he'd do better in the eye test than he felt he did at the Academy level. Nothing could've prepared him for what was to come.

Across 11 games with Medellin, he put up 3 goals on 18 total shots, as well as 1 assist, good enough for about 0.36 points per 90. He was a little unlucky on his assist total, finishing his tenure with a 3.41 xA. He also successfully made 78.42% of his passes, which could be better in his opinion, but he took what he could get. He also put up a 6.77 average rating across those 11 games, one of the worst in the league that season among non-Legend players. All this to say, Silver wasn't expecting to go high in the draft, and was actually wondering if he'd even be drafted at all. "The captain of an academy team going undrafted... I couldn't stomach that being the case," he thought on draft day, hoping and waiting for his name to be called.

After the shock wore off of being the number 9 pick, Silver worked his tail feathers off the entire offseason, not wanting to disappoint the heads of the USP organization. He wanted to show them that their faith in him was not misplaced, and that he would reward them tenfold.

Across his 22 club games with Paris, Silver scored 9 goals on 85 total shot, and notched 19 assists, totaling about 1.12 points per 90, split up as 0.41 goals and 0.86 assists per 90, leagues better than his Academy numbers. Even management was surprised at these numbers, putting Silver well above the Minor League average. This time around, he was a little unlucky on his shots, ending with a total xG of 11.87. His assists were a little higher than expected, running an xA of 16.89. He made 80.68% of passes on the season, which he plans to improve upon in the next season, and had an average rating of 7.83, with 3 player of the match awards as well.

To say Silver had a good rookie season is a massive understatement. His 19 assists were good for 2nd overall in the league, missing out on the Golden Eye by one assist to North Shore's Mikko Rashford III, and his 47 chances created was also good enough for 2nd, falling short of the leader by 2. Silver is going to take what he learned this season and apply it to the next. With any luck, his dream of breaking the single season assist record, and all-time assist record will be his sooner rather than later.

Approved - Great season for Silver no question. Lots of work still to do!

Killua Zoldyck JR would end up getting drafted to Reykjavik United program where he would spend his first career season in the minors for their development team North Shore United. Prior to his first game for the program he would also undergo a position change from being a attacker to playing Right defense. He knew the switch was best for the team and ultiamely where he would shine the most. For his first season in the minors him and North Shore would not have the greatest season as they were more of a middle pack team. We would go 9-3-10 which is honestly an understatement of how good our offense was as we were 4th in the league in GF. Our defense is where we struggled allowing 57 GA being 8th overall there. Moving on to how Killua Zoldyck JR played himself he would end up being able to get an average rating of 7.05 over 24 games which isn't too shabby. Crazy enough he actually did put some stats up on the offensive side scoring 2 goals and helping his teammates to 7 assists. His passing percentage was just over 78%. He attempted 63 tackles this season succededing in only 49 with a 77% sucess rate. He would also pick up no red cards luckly but did get 8 yellows over the season. Overall it was an okay season he believes and is determined to get better this upcoming season and also help his team win more games. He knows Reykjavik United program is known for their winning and hopes to help lead their minor team to wins. His main goal is to of course help those defensives numbers out as we allowed way too many goals last season and at the end of the day in any sport defense wins championships but he also hopes to possibly score a couple of goals/assist as he does miss his attacker days.

Approved - first season on D a 7.05 rating is solid!

Arsène N’Goussou is certainly looking forward to his initial campaign with Rapid Magyar SC.  As an Academy Player, N’Goussou showed flashes of greatness, and was a pivotal part of Port Royal’s offense en route to their Academy League title.  As an Attacking Center Midfielder, N’Goussou was tied for fifth in the league with 9 goals, tied for fifth with 6 assists, and was tied for first in total points (goals + assists). He placed the most shots on target (21), despite only being 4th in total shots (34).  He won 2 Player of the Match awards and held the second Average Match Rating, at 7.58.

SSL organizations certainly noticed N’Goussou’s Academy performance, and his work ethic off the field.  This attention translated to a very nice draft spot, as N’Goussou was selected 4th overall, by the Shanghai Dragons organization.  Arsène was immediately assigned to Rapid Magyar SC, where he gladly reported to start training.  The organizational managers met with N’Goussou and showed him their plan for him to shift positions slightly on the field, and he spent the off-season training to make the shift to Left Attacking Midfielder.  He’s working on getting to know his teammates better, and you could already see this coming to fruition as in the first pre-season match of the season, he connected for an assist with Allie Bunson.  N’Goussou is going to need some time to get up to the speed of the Minors game.  While he registered a respectable 7.1 match rating in the first friendly, the second friendly only showed him earning a 6.6 rating, with no clear cut chances, let alone points.  His first real match of the season left a bit to be desired as well.  He again had no clear cut chances, and only earned a 6.7 match rating, one of only two players on Magyar to be sub-7.  That being said, there were some positives to this performance, as he completed both tackles he attempted, completed 91% of his passes, and drew a penalty in the box. While it remains to be seen how well N’Goussou can turn his potential into results, he’s excited to continue his journey in Magyar, and can’t wait to show the Shanghai organization that they were right to put their trust in him.

You come in to professional football with high hopes when you are a young kid from London. One morning, you receive a phone call and it is the first time in your life that you actually second guess whether you really can or should pursue this dream.

As the professional teams start to circle, Pruney was sent off to the academy in Stockholm. And right away, the stage seemed just a little bit bigger and a little bit brighter than he was expecting. Stockholm, of course, would not be the most talented team in Pruney's academy season, notching only 3 victory's across 14 match days. It would, however, establish Pruney with a bit of a reputation that would allow the young bloke to make his way to Reykjavik during the offseason draft.

And now, as Pruney prepares to lace up his boots for the first time in his rookie season for North Shore, he's excited about the potential for a true "rookie season" that builds on everything that he learned in Stockholm. The managers in Reykjavik and North Shore have high hopes for the entire organization. During a true rookie season, an opportunity to learn from some of the best players to ever do it (Rashford, Neymarinho, Urkel, Prusikin) is usually unheard of. And even more exciting as Pruney starts off his rookie campaign, is that he has a class of other young players just one season ahead in Chicken and Zoldyck Jr. that have already begun to pave the way to the next core for North Shore.

With a roster from top to bottom in the Majors that will compete with the very best and an incredibly fast growing minors team, its the perfect opportunity to slowly learn more as a rookie. Pruney is super excited for the true start of his rookie season as the North Shore team takes the pitch together for the very first time this week. In the Academy, Pruney was player of the match just 1 time and notched 4 goals. I suspect that as this season goes on, and more opportunities open up on the North Shore roster, he'll have every opportunity to level up his game and even show how dangerous he can be playing in the midfield with some of the best in the business.

Approved - A great opportunity to learn in North Shore!

As the Academy season comes to an end, Connor can be proud of his achievments as the sole striker for Victoria Falls, 9 goals and 3 assists in 14 games leads to just under 1 goal involment per game, not bad for a team that was struggling to fire on all cylinders to begin with that rallied together to become a solid mid table time by the time the curtain fell, while a trophy would of be nice, the friends and experience that was picked up along the season will stick with Connor for the rest of his career

When the draft came around there was many conflicted feelings around Connor, he was loud, confident in himself and arguably in your face, he could either be a troublemaker or the shot in the arm that some teams were in desperate need of, several scouting conversations were had and although he was sad to leave Victoria Falls and his team mates behind, he was excited with the proscpect of officialy joining the SSL.

As the draft started to come around it seemed like three teams were the most likely to be his new home, Hollywood, Shanghai and Tokyo, 3 very different teams and enviroments but all saw the potential that Connor could bring to their team, most teams saw Connor as a second round pick, however Tokyo felt differently, and with the 9th overall pick Connor was heading off to Tokyo

Only time will tell if Tokyo made the right decision, have they spotted a diamond in the rough that others didn't see or have they wasted their 1st round pick on a low Academy earner, with whispers of a bad pick and a luxury pick going around the league the determination to prove his new home correct was stronger than ever, however the road ahead is long and as they say, rome wasn't built in a day

Approved - Sounds like Tokyo got a good one!

Rookie seasons are always complicated. And when you really have no idea on how your stats are going to add up to everyone else's on the league. I will consider Jay Cue Jr. rookie season as the one after he was drafted, so season 23 will be his first real season, as Academy is not really "a real season". If you know me from any other sim league, the portuguese phenom really is not a fan of the academy/minor leagues. But you have to do, what you have to do.
So for his rookie season, the main goal is to be able to improve stat wise. Being drafted into a pretty recent expansion team could be the best thing that happened to him. One of his desires was to be called up into the majors as soon as possible, so the fact that Liffeyside Celtic is a pretty recent team, can be a really big help for him in being able to play in the major league, who knows, even in season 24. But, for that, he knows that his TPE gain needs to be consistent and his exhibitions on the field also have to be above average. For this to happen, he has set some goals. And he did: he had 8 assists in the academy, so he will be a bit more conservative for the Minor League, so 6 assists this season is his objective. It is going to be really hard to achieve that, considering that after 3 games he has the incredible amount of 0 assists. He does have a 7.4 average rating, which is not bad at all at this point, but his objective is to help his team getting some wins. That being said, acceleration is now maxed, so i highly doubt anyone can catch Cue sprinting, and with his pin point crosses, I bet Rova's attackers can start feasting soon. Maybe we can be the dark horse and surprise everyone and get Rova into a great position at the end of the season.
It was also super interesting when i joined a new locker room, that had minor and major league players. It is always a bit nerve wrecking when you are someone most people do not know, and you try to integrate. I really can not complain, as everyone was really welcoming, even though i do not participate a lot, as my locker room activity is not was it was a few years ago. But i still enjoy meeting new people, getting to know their league objectives and to try and get the players who are playing in my position to quit the league. I mean, just regular stuff i guess.
I really can't wait for the season to move forward and see what Cue Jr. is capable of. Working hard to get as much TPE as i can so he can max out a few stats.

Approved - The assists will come. Cue is in a great position to help Rova/Liffey for a long time!

With the Academy class of S23 done and over with, Seth McNeil has been put through the wringer with his new team: Masques Sacrés. At Sydney, Seth was contributing more and more to the teams goals and even helping to deliver crosses from the corners. On Masques? Lets just say the large fish in a small pond is now staring at the wide, vast, ocean. Management had a plan for him and it wasn't up top. Over the off-season training, Masques has reworked McNeil to be a defender. On Sydney, Seth's job was simple: run fast and cross it to the middle. Not so simple on the African Minors team. Holes in his game would need to be mended to play in this new role. Excited, he spent hours redeveloping himself on what it means to be a player in the SSL.

In his Sydney City Academy year, he had 3 goals, 5 assists and two Player of the Match awards. Since coming to Duékoué, crossing took a backseat. Anticipation, Composure and Concentration were his new friends. Throwing himself into tackles while keeping himself popular with the fans, he has come out a new player on the other side. 5 games into this rookie season and Seth McNeil has an average match rating of 7.5. One goal, two assists. For someone turning his back to his crossing game, these numbers are gratifying to him to say the least. In his first SSL Cup match, he almost netted a goal at the end of the game to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat but it wasn't to be. Throughout all the changes, his speed is still there. Sprinting up and down the right side, Seth will be delivering quality passes as well as stopping the cross in his own end. He looks forward to the upcoming season and hopes to keep his team up in the top-6 before the new SSL format splits the league in two.

Approved - McNeil and Masques should be a great fit. Excited to see you continue your SSL journey!

Following being drafted 7th overall by Club Deportivo Tenochtitlan, and the ensuing media backlash, Andre Caetano was sent the Minor League affiliate within the organization.

In a statistical sense, Caetano was solid (albeit unspectacular). He averaged a 7.07 as a rookie midfielder on a surprise-package Krung Thep FC team that ended up with the best second half of the season amongst all Minors teams and only finished 9 points off the title-winners AS Paris. Caetano contributed 2 goals and 6 assists, and even showed glimpses of standout potential with 2 player of the match awards. His strongest attribute was his passing, as he amassed 40 key passes in open play and 85 progressive passes, according to data scientists employed by his father.

In a personal sense, Caetano was pleasantly surprised with how well he was received by his teammates. He expected a bit more animosity from his fellow teammates, particularly rookies whom he was drafted ahead of due to his family's meddling and monetary influence on the organization. However, everyone treated Caetano with respect and he enjoyed being able to socialize and eat meals at the canteen with the squad. Growing up, Andre had been isolated from his peers during his chocolatier apprenticeship. Being a part of Krung Thep allowed Caetano to grow not just as a player, but also as a person. He became fast friends with fellow 1st rounder (and 2nd overall pick) Tonto Tut, as well as his fellow Panini Bros Jonny Elliott and "Big" Dom Patterson, as well as Jonny's little brother Billy. He also struck up a comradery of sorts with battle droid designation "Roger Roger" and worked to ensure he was well-equipped with the highest quality synthetic oil. Even Joe Mamba, the most veteran of the outfield players on that S20 Krung Thep squad, didn't look down on Andre.

While early doors in Andre Caetano's career, he will continue to work to justify that 7th overall selection, one way or another!

Approved - Solid rookie season no questions there!

After being drafted by AC Romana Caroni was expecting to have a couple of seasons down in their affiliate minors team, Inter London, so it was a surprise when he was told that due to exits on the transfer market by both clubs that there would be a starting spot for him in AC Romana, albeit in the left wing back position, which he had to train to adapt himself to playing on the other side of the field, pre season went well enough and he had his expectations set, it was going to be tough, but he was up for the challenge.

However after 9 games Riveras has failed to make a single goal contribution, although he has had some good games in which his rating was in the higher 7s both his vision to find his teammates on the box or his ability to find the back of the net seem to have been completely nullified on this level of play. Average (if not worse) seems to be the name of his game at the time, which, to be completely honest its sort of expected taking into account the massive difference in skill between the regulars of the Major League and a guy fresh out of the Academy.

Nevertheless, if the staff at AC Romana trusted him with a spot in the starting eleven its because they saw something in him, and while the first couple of steps have been rough there's confidence around him that once he finds his footing he will be able to shine as he did at Atletico Medellin in the Academy or as his counterpart on the right side, Hippity Hoppity which has been a key part both on the offense and defense of the Italian side, time will tell if Riveras can find his mojo back.

Approved - Time will see Caroni get into major league form!
