Major Team Logos Graded
#1
Hello friends! We’re back at it this week with a ranking of teams based on their logos! Last week we did the Minor teams so this week leaves the Major teams. If I’m feeling spicy maybe I’ll average each teams (Major/Minor) and rank organizations as a whole. Anyway, let’s get right to it!

  1. Hollywood FC. Hollywood sign on a shield, pretty standard. I don’t want to call it boring, just not necessarily unique. The blue and gold do give off a nice Hollywood vibe though I think. Maybe a tertiary red for a “red carpet” feel would be neat. 5/10
  2. União Sau Paulo. Black an red is a cool color combination in my opinion. I have no idea what the bridge looking thing is supposed to be, but the stylized SP on the bottom looks cool and the I’m a fan of the symmetric feel of it all. 6.1/10
  3. CD Tenochtitlan. Tenochtitlan is one of my favorite words to say, so that’s a plus. My screenshot resolution made it hard to see the logo so I actually had to reload the page on my phone to get a more clear look. Is it a vulture or bird of prey eating a snake? The idea is cool but it’s hard to tell. Overall I’m a fan of it but it’s got room for improvement. 6/10
  4. Shanghai Dragons FC. This one is badass. Some have called me an edgelord, so it makes sense that this is an instant top of the list for me. I’d call it black and bronze (instead of gold) and it just fits. 10/10 no notes.
  5. Reykjavik United. Black and green is a solid choice. I’m assuming this is some sort of Nordic team because the logo looks like a Viking longboat. Pretty neat overall but nothing to write home about. 4.6/10
  6. Liffeyside Celtic FC. This one feels like a real soccer logo. The Celtic cross and knots makes sense, and green and white fit for a Celtic team. I don’t want to call it a mid logo, it just feels uninspired, namean? 5.1/10
  7. AC Romana. Sick looking gold helmet on a purple backdrop. I’m too dumb to know the significance of the 7 in Roman numerals wrapped with laurels, but i appreciate that it’s there. 8/10
  8. Schwarzwälde FV. Okay real talk this gives me vibes of an Indy hardcore backyard wrestling logo from the southwest US. 4/10
  9. CA Buenos Aires. Sunny logo fo a sunny place. The stylization of the CA and BA look neat, but overall missing something that I just can’t put my fingers on. 4.5/10
  10. Xelajú Cósmico. Okay so I was mock drafted to this team by Lumberjack and commented that i loved the logo. And while that’s still mostly true, after really looking at some of the other logos, this one just feels empty. I like the teal(?) bird with the purple beak perched on the star, but it just feels like it’s lacking substance. All bread and no meat if that makes sense. Gotta put it middle of the road for that. 5.3
  11. CF Catalunya. Red and white is clean AF but it gives more of an English feel than Spanish. The color and the crown give it a really cool vibe (gives me a Knights of the Blood Oath feel from sword art online which I dig). 7/10
  12. Tokyo S.C. This one is a little busy for my taste. I also can’t tell if that’s a cat or fox (i want to believe cat because i love the Lucky Cat). The Orange-y color and teal-y color look cool though. I feel like I don’t want to put it below some of the more bland ones, sooooo 5.2/10

Final rankings.

  1. Shanghai
  2. ACR
  3. CFCat
  4. USP
  5. Tenochtitlan

  6. XLC

  7. TSC

  8. Liffeyside

  9. HFC
  10. RKV
  11. BA
  12. SFV

Putting the logo code is such a pain in the ass on mobile

Good analysis, even though the Liffeyside logo should be higher. But I do love the Shanghai logo.
