We’re 5 games into the season and while it is still too early to pass judgement, things have been looking pretty over there in Mpanjaka for Patrick Zweig.
A few weeks ago, I covered Patrick’s game and called it a big gamble by the team to draft him this high, and so far, I have only been vindicated for that opinion. It has been frustrating for the fans as Zweig started the season completely cold, averaging match ratings of 6.2 in the first two games. He barely was able to show his magic in those games
The fans did see a glimpse of how special he can be during the mid-week fixture vs XLC where he was able to get a brilliant assist where he cut into the box, taking on 3 defenders and creating space outside of the box where Kalinis was ready to hit a banger. Unfortunately that was their only goal that game as they lost 1-3 but Zweig with an assist and a passing accuracy of 94% along with Schwarzer were the standout performers.
Even in Match day 4, he seemed to be getting more involved in plays unlike the first three matchdays where he was a mere ghost. He was making runs, making the right passes as he achieved his season best match rating of 6.9.
So far it hasn't been the brightest of starts for the lad, his form has started to pick up in the last few games so the fans are hopeful he can elevate CRM from the bottom 2.
