After last week's breakout performances by Haye, netting several goals and assists in Port Royal’s astonishing climb from the bottom of the table to the top, several league owners and managers reached out for scouting conversations. It seems all the managers are excited about Vincent’s versatility to score in chaotic set pieces and during high pressure one on one break aways. Several questions stood out to Haye, such as “Does Haye see himself as a future team leader and captain?” Haye had never considered himself a player leader for any of his previous teams. He had been content to be a quiet support personality. The idea of needing to set the example for his future team’s confidence and dedication was a bit daunting. Another question that caught Vincent off guard was, “Would you consider playing positions other than striker?” His response in the first interview was probably more aggressive than necessary to stipulate that he would never want to play any other position than striker. Hopefully, the incident wouldn’t cost him from being drafted in the first round, like he believes he deserves. Hopefully future conversations with the same team and manager will repair any misgivings he may have caused with his aggressive and abrasive response to the question.
