Academy Task #5 - Draft Class Analysis of the top 15
#1
For my Academy Task #5, I thought it would be fun to do a quick analysis of the S27 draft class. I'll focus only on what I can gleam from the portal by looking at attribute updates, positional choices and traits and then take a guess at build plans. I won't go into user analysis since I don't want to give unfair analysis on a user due to lack of knowledge. I'm doing the current top 15 in the class this round and I'll go in current order of accumulated TPE.

One thing of note: As we're talking about academy players with less than 350 tpe, the term strength is loosely used here to mean any attribute over 10 so we can try to get an understanding what the user, at least presently, sees as important enough to spend a minimum of 16 tpe to reach so far in their build process.

1. User: @Rylakn , Player: Rylakn, TPE: 332
Primary Position: LWB, Secondary Positions: LAM, LD
Traits: Runs With Ball Often, Gets Forward Whenever Possible
Rylakn's strengths are physical attributes with all of them over 10 other than strength as well as Work Rate, Crossing and Dribbling. Rylakn is building towards a physical specimen of a LWB who likes to attack and can cover a multitude of areas on the left side of the pitch.

2. User: @Pelochyta, Player: Paulie Wag, TPE: 323
Primary Position: CD, Secondary Positions: LWB, CDM
Traits:  Winds Up Opponents, Marks Opponent Tightly
Paulie Wag's strengths are Pace, Acceleration, Jumping Reach, Anticipation, Bravery, Decisions, Positioning, Marking and Tackling. Pelochyta is building towards a pesty but solid defensive player in the center or left side of the pitch.

3. User: @Quitolis , Player: Thomas Thunder, TPE: 321
Primary Position: LAM, Secondary Positions: LM, CM
Traits: Cuts Inside From Both Wings, Plays One-Twos
Thomas Thunder's strengths are Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Pace, Anticipation, Off The Ball, Dribbling, Finishing, Passing, Technique. Quitolis is building toward a clear inverted midfielder with solid attacking prowess. They've also got a lovely signature on the forum.

4. User: @siddhus, Player: Daan Wouters, TPE: 321
Primary Position: RAM, Secondary Positions: LAM, RD
Traits: Cuts Inside From Both Wings, Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap
Daan Wouters' strengths are 5 in which they've spent a considerable amount of their early tpe: Acceleration, Pace, Jumping Reach, Anticipation, Dribbling. siddhus' build here is hard to guess at but they will initially play an inverted midfielder who likes to keep the ball themselves to set up attack.

5. User: @Sizz, Player: Max Velox, TPE: 321
Primary Position: RWB, Secondary Positions: RM, RD
Traits: Brings Ball Out Of Defense, Gets Into Opposition Area
Max Velox's strengths are Acceleration, Pace, Anticipation, Work Rate, Crossing, Dribbling, First Touch, Marking, Passing. Sizz's build is one that seems to be a decently defensive wingback who also likes to generate attacking chances with quick counters on the flanks via crosses.

6. User: @Domffl, Player: His Cheeseburger, TPE: 314
Primary Position: ST, Secondary Positions: LAM, RAM
Traits: Gets Into Opposition Area, Places Shots
His Cheeseburger's strengths are Acceleration, Jumping Reach, Pace, Anticipation, Composure, Concentration, Dribbling and Finishing. This is clearly a build where the expectation is to score goals from contested areas as one would expect from a pure striker.

7. User: @HoodRatRoyalty, Player: Tadgh O'Hurley, TPE: 312
Primary Position: LWB, Secondary Positions: LM, LD
Traits: Gets Forward Whenever Possible, Crossing Early
Tadgh O'Hurley's strengths include Acceleration, Agility, Pace, Off The Ball, Teamwork, Work Rate, Crossing, Dribbling, Marking, Passing, Tackling, Technique. Here we see a build similar to Velox's in with it seems the plan is to create a wing back who enjoys getting up on the flanks, creating chances via crosses while not being a liability on defense.

8. User: @Yoshi, Player: Yoshisaur Munchakoopa, TPE: 311
Primary Position: LAM, Secondary Positions: ST, RAM,
Traits: Tries Killer Balls Often, Attempts Overhead Kicks
Yoshisaur Munchakoopa's strengths are Acceleration, Agility, Jumping Reach, Pace, Crossing, Dribbling, Finishing, First Touch, Passing, Technique. While the attributes not mentioned aren't all at 5, this build clearly points to a user with a purely attacking midfielder in mind with a flair for the dramatic.

9. User: @SoySavant, Player: Swiss Cheese, TPE: 311
Primary Position: GK, Secondary Positions: N/A
Traits: No Traits
Swiss Cheese's strengths include Agility, Anticipation, Concentration, Positioning, Aerial Reach, Command of Area, Kicking, One on Ones, Reflexes. A keeper's build is harder to guess at here but it seems SoySavant's expectations are, at least early on, to build a goalkeeper that assumes the defense in front of them will be similar to their player's name and will need to rely on their own skills to keep the ball out of the net.

10. User: @khens4, Player: Tex Star, TPE: 311
Primary Position: CAM, Secondary Positions: ST, RAM
Traits: Gets Forward Whenever Possible, Places Shots
Tex Star's strengths include Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Pace, Anticipation, Work Rate, Dribbling, Finishing, Passing, Technique. All signs point towards an offensive minded midfielder who can control the ball, dish it out to teammates or finish themself.

11. User: @TubaDeus, Player: Captain Metalbeard, TPE: 311
Primary Position: RD, Secondary Positions: RM, RWB
Traits: Brings Ball Out Of Defense, Marks Opponent Tightly
Captain Metalbeard's strengths are Acceleration, Pace, Anticipation, Positioning with many others increased but not at the "strength" threshold mentioned earlier. The build seems to point towards a well rounded, physical right back with solid mental decision making.

12. User: @stankpicklez, Player: Slim Towered, TPE: 310
Primary Position: GK, Secondary Positions: N/A
Traits: No Traits
Slim Towered's strengths include Acceleration, Agility, Pace, Anticipation, Composure, Concentration, Aerial Reach, Command of Area, One on Ones, Reflexes. These point towards a keeper who keeps his cool in tough times and relies on his cat-like reflexes to make saves.

13. User: @DarkViper2, Player: Scott Newman, TPE: 308
Primary Position: CAM, Secondary Positions: ST, RAM
Traits: Dictates Tempo, Shoots With Power
Scott Newman's strengths include Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Pace, Strength, Anticipation, Composure, Finishing, First Touch, Long Shots. DarkViper2's build seems to indicate a plan to build a physical attacking midfielder who takes passes, quickly moves into an extended striking distance and can finish with long range blasts.

14. User: @PBubs900, Player: Bonnibel Bubblegum, TPE: 307
Primary Position: ST, Secondary Positions: LAM, CAM
Traits: Runs With Ball Rarely, Gets Into Opposition Area
Bonnibel Bubblegum's strengths include Acceleration, Balance, Jumping Reach, Pace, Strength, Anticipation, Composure, Off The Ball, Finishing, First Touch, Heading. Here we see a build that seems to indicate they plan on using their mental strengths to get into a good spot for crosses or use their first touch ability to receive passes and quickly finish from the box.

15. User: @Kino, Player: Idris Nelson, TPE: 304
Primary Position: CD, Secondary Positions: LWB, LD
Traits: Plays Short Simple Passes, Gets Crowd Going
Idris Nelson's strengths are Jumping Reach, Pace, Strength, Positioning, Heading, Marking with many other increased nearly to the "strength" threshold. All signs point to a well rounded, mentally strong central defender who relies on sound positioning, good decisions and an aptitude for headers to keep the ball out of his own area.

To the rest of my class, I hope to continue this analysis for your players. Hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on your builds and feel free to comment below if you have anything you want to add.
