Growth Through Losing
#1
London, England

Inter London knew that getting promoted to minor league division one was going to come with some challenges, and they are currently going through those growing pains. They are currently last place in the division, with a 0-3 record.

This week started with a 4-1 loss to Rapid Magyar SC. Although the score line was large, the game was played pretty evenly. Both teams had the same number of shots, and the expected goals were around 3 for both sides. Inter London had 59% possession but couldn't keep up with the deadly counter from Rapid Magyar SC. It was a pretty testy game, with eight yellow cards being shown between both teams. João Mendes was the only goal scorer on the night, his first of the season.

With the season just starting, this meant that Inter London had their cup qualifying tie this week. They drew Schwarzwälder FV, a major league opponent. Unfortunately, Schwarzwälder FV was the dominant side in this one, showing their class. Star striker Diego Machado had a hat trick and couldn't be contained. Although Inter London did have 58% possession, the opposition was much more clinical in front of the goal. They overwhelmed the minor league side with 9 shots on target.

The final game of the week was a 3-2 loss to F.C. Kaapstad. This was a game that Inter London could've won. It was very evenly matched in terms of shots and attempts. The match momentum was very much in Inter London's favor, but once again seemed to lack the sharpness and defensive structure to prevent these goals against the run of play. The goals for Inter London were scored by Maurjiro Rivers and Arthur Cain.

The learning curve is hitting Inter London hard right now, but luckily for them, it's still very early in the season. If they can work on being better in the transition, these results can flip into wins.
