Leonardo Stone has had a very interesting rookie season thus far. While nothing exactly stands out on the stat sheet, Stone has definitely added a positive contribution to this young Cairo City team. As a rookie, Stone has already earned his way as a starter, and despite his lack of experience he has performed fairly admirably. In his first game, Stone was definitely a weak point on his team, but his team also won 2-0 and Stone himself had a 6.8 rating, which is nothing to be ashamed of. In game 2, Stone was a bit worse, again posting no goals or assists, and this time Stone only had a 6.6 rating. It wouldn’t be until the SSL Cup where Stone would finally achieve his first goal. And what a beauty it was. While it will not count for the season stats since it was a cup game, Stone managed to score a beautiful header in the 87th minute of a game that was tied 2-2, giving Cairo the 3-2 lead, and eventual win, over AF Masques. Stone proved that he has the chops to be a great player in this league, and this game will give him confidence for seasons to come. However, that confidence has yet to be seen, as in the third minors game of the season, Stone drops another 0.2 in match rating, this time only posting a 6.4 rating. Additionally, Cairo has suffered their first loss of the season, with Stone starting to wonder if his cup game was just a fluke. But finally, in game four, again against AF Masques, Stone had the best game of his minors career, posting not only a goal, but also a masterful pass that led to an assist (with only 0.4 XG). While Cairo would once again lose, it was only a one goal loss, and with Stone now gaining momentum, the future is as bright as ever for Stone and Cairo, and hopefully now that the offense is unlocking through Stone, his S26 teammate and standout goalie Umaq Yupanqui can continue his great campaign and superb goalkeeping en route to Cairo making a run to win division 2.
