Purchased TPE Analysis
#1
Now that we’re into the season, I thought it would be a good chance to take a look at purchased TPE as in the seasonal equipment.  I wanted to see how each team is doing in terms of purchased TPE.  The idea being that if most of your team has already purchased a lot of TPE then it is probably an active and earning team – which is to say healthy.

It is early in the season.  Teams that have purchased most their TPE early will get to take advantage of it for more of the season, while teams that have not may improve as the season progresses.

I pulled the data on July 1st and so things may have changed by the time this article gets published.

We’ll start with minors, go to majors, and finish with an overall look at the organizations.  I’ll mostly highlight some things that stand out, but I’ll share the tables so you can form your own conclusions.

In each table I’ve got the average of purchased TPE (max is 18), the sum, count of players on the team, and average TPE of the team.

Minors

Right off the bat AS Paris stands out.  The only team in double digits.  A whopping 176 total purchased TPE from a full active roster.  The most ‘healthy’.

Some other healthy teams include Cairo City, North Shore United, and Seoul MFC all with an average above 9.0.

On the other side of the spectrum, we have Krung Thep at 3.5 TPE average with the lowest total at 42.  That is based on 12 players, 4 of which are inactive.  Interestingly, a lot of their players that have not purchased TPE have bank to do so.  That phenomenon seems to be a common occurrence across the leagues and divisions.  Also, fun fact, that TPE total is over 4x less than AS Paris.

Just so I am not just calling out Krung Thep, some other teams toward the bottom include Athenai FC and Rapid Magyar SC who both average below 5.0 purchased TPE.

Something that is also interesting is that the most ‘healthy’ teams are not necessarily the teams with the highest average TPE.  While it is true for AS Paris, that is not the case for Cairo City who have the lowest average TPE but are very ‘healthy’.  Again we see Krung Thep FC with a high average TPE but low ‘health’.

Majors

Looking at the Majors, it feels a lot more competitive.  There are now 6 teams in double digits.  Surprisingly not all 6 are in division 1.  Uniao Sao Paulo and Hollywood FC are below the double digit threshold but are still in division 1.  Whereas on the other end of the coin, Shanghai Dragons FC which leads the league in average is in division 2 along with Tokyo FC.  For Tokyo, they have the lowest average TPE – this tells me that they are a young active team and if they are able to keep it up should be a force in the future.

Xela and CABA are the lowest, with a below 7.0 average. They also have relatively low TPEs and are in division 2.  All of that more or less makes sense.  Generally, the teams with high TPE seem to have a high average of purchased TPE.  The main exception is Uniao Sao Paulo which has the highest average TPE but a middling purchased TPE average.  We may need to start cracking the whip.

Organizations

Since the organization view is basically just a roll up, I won’t say a whole lot.  Looks like CF Cat / Seoul and USP/ ASP are the only teams in the double digits.  CABA / Athenai well below the other teams at 5.42.

Final Thoughts

For minors, if a team is ‘healthy’ then their organization’s pipeline is ‘healthy’.  While AS Paris stands out, there are several teams very close by.

When looking at majors it does generally seem to be an attribute of teams in division 1 with some exceptions.

All this said, purchased TPE is a drop in the bucket compared to AC/PT, especially when looking at the max TPE for a player 2000+.  This was just a fun little adventure for me to explore my curiosity and earn some money.
