Leo Stone FULL offseason update
#1
With the offseason about to wrap up as teams cement their day 1 rosters and friendlies start to commence, we can take a look at what the league's favorite (the person writing this’ favorite) player has been up to this offseason. From training with monks to breaking the world record for peanut M&Ms consumed in 5 minutes, it has been quite the offseason for Stone. After a somewhat disappointing rookie season in the Div2 Minors, Stone had a lot of soccer skill to work on, but yet, it seems other priorities took effect…

The first thing Leo did over the offseason was take a flight back home to see his family and go back to his roots. The best way to beat a slump is to remember who you are and what you stand for. Luckily, his hometown still had pickup soccer, and Stone went to one to prove to the world, and really himself, that he is a good player. The game was 12-0 in the first 6 minutes before Stone was promptly punched in the face for taunting and running up the score in a pickup game against mostly 30 year olds who worked full shifts earlier that day. Was it deserved? Perhaps. But a new busted lip aside, Stone proved that he is still elite, and his skills are genuinely generational for someone from his town. After playing with that much success and coming home to receive a home cooked meal from his loving family, that was more than enough to get Stone to remember how good he is and how good he can be.

And now that he remembers that, it was time for true training to begin. Stone believes his soccer skills are perfect, and it is simply a mindset issue as to why he is not seeing success. What better way to combat that than in the same ways that Stone’s favorite superhero has, with Tibetan monks teaching principles. Stone got the first flight out to Tibet to learn their ways. After all, if Batman did it it must be cool right? He took a 2 month long hiatus at the temple, eating no meat, all fresh from the Earth, and meditating for more than 5 hours a day to master patience. However, after 45 days in the monastery, the monks discovered that Leo did not actually understand Tibetan dialect, and had just been acting like he understood everything by nodding and making good use of quiet grunts. In his personal meditation room, there is a slow water drip inside the room to help those meditating concentrate with a consistent beat. Stone had misinterpreted the instructions and thought he was given five hours of alone time in the room because the shower system had very poor water pressure and he needed five hours to effectively shower with that level of water. Needless to say, when a monk walked into the room on accident and got a Leo Stone full frontal, it was enough for Stone to get sent packing. Though not all was lost from the trip. It is reported that Stone has a greater appreciation for his non-material items, though he was seen getting $40 worth of Taco Bell in his Lamborghini as soon as he was let out…

Anyways… Stone then proceeded to play in the S26 all star game, where he performed admirably; scoring two goals en route to a win for his side of the all stars. But there is more about that in the last update. More importantly than that, Stone was also featured on an ESPN special program called CrossSport. TLDR it's a show where athletes of different sports compete against each other, exciting stuff. Anyways, on this program it featured Leonardo Stone and premier ISFL cornerback Silas Santana. Santana would try out the goalie position, defending passes from QBs is the same thing as going against kicks right? Wrong. Santana would have to try and stop 10 penalty kicks from Stone, but unfortunately for him Stone was able to wipe the floor with Santana, and scored 9/10 goals, with the one miss being off the post. After a (mostly) positive offseason, Leo is very excited to start the season and get the ball rolling, while hopefully dazzling fans both on and off the pitch.
