Stephen Eustaquisquid Draft Profile
#1
What is going on Simulation Soccer League, it is your boy Squid here with an introductory article for my newest player, Stephen Eustaquisquid. We are already 9 matchdays in for the Academy and with the draft coming up soon I figured I should probably get to earning some more cash to start maxing footedness and my last little bit of Individual Training. So here we go with a bit of a scouting report for Stephen.

Background

Stephen Eustaquisquid is a central midfielder born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The lanky Canadian is very lanky, standing at 6'5 tall or 195cm, yet only 180lbs.  He played in the Canadian U-15 National Academy where he trained under the supervision and teachings of former Canadian WSFC greats. He was originally brought to the academy when he was recommended by a family friend who had recognized his talents and physical ability. When he first started playing for the U-15 team he was limited to just coming on for substitutions or not dressing for the match. But Stephen Eustaquisquid naturally took to the game, finding key passes and first touches easier and faster each time. After a lot of hard work and dedication, he now finds himself playing in the SSL Academy for FC Port Royal.

Strengths

Stephen Eustaquisquid is extremely talented physically, he is already one of the fastest in his draft class and would have no trouble jumping straight into the SSL Major Divisions without having to improve on his pace or acceleration. Although his Pace and Acceleration are exceptional, he also is fairly well rounded in his Strength, Balance, Jumping Reach, and Agility. Allowing him to be fairly versatile throughout his time on the pitch.

17 - Acceleration
10 - Agility, Balance, Jumping Reach, Strength

Eustaquisquid has been able to improve his Mental game throughout his time in both the U-15 National Academy and the SSL Academy league. Although he still has a lot of things to improve and develop, he has grown well under the tutelage of the Academy managers. His decision making has been phenomenal since he first joined the Academy, but his ability to anticipate plays throughout the game and concentrate on the end goal are also his strengths. When the ball comes to him he is able to dictate the pace of the game and speed it up or slow it down, influencing the game heavily.  He does like to send the ball long and over  the defense trying to send an attacking player in on a run, a strategy that hasn't worked well for him yet in the academy, but he keeps trying it anyway.

11 - Anticipation
10 - Concentration
Traits: Dictates Tempo, Tries Killer Balls Often

Stephen's Technical ability is lacking in comparison to others in his draft class and academy class, but on the positive side these things are all teachable and improvable. As a central midfielder he is a solid passing engine for the middle of the pitch, able to make clean crisp short passes, lob it for a good pass up the middle, or switch it to the opposite side if needed. He is not the most creative passer or the most accurate, but he is a good contributor at his current level. His first touch can be improved as well, but he is currently able to take a pass or stray ball easily and get it into a good position. He needs more explosiveness and more creativity as well as being able to one touch the ball into a good spot to make a play, but that will come as the season progresses.

11 - Passing
10 - First Touch

Weaknesses

Every player can not be good at everything and Stephen Eustaquisquid is no exception. Even though he has a strong ability to make decisions, concentrate and anticipate plays throughout the game, he is not able to get to those spots as quick as he should be. Constantly running into teammates' lanes and being out of position sometimes causes confusion among the players as they try to cover for him. Eustaquisquid is not the model teammate and will need to learn to work harder and not get upset at his teammates' trying to cover his mistakes. As a midfielder he could stand to be better on the technical side of the game as well, being able to dribble away from pressure, mark opposing attackers, and actually try to defend once in a while would go a long way in improving his game.

5 - Off The Ball, Positioning, Teamwork, Work Rate
5 - Marking, Tackling, Technique

The Academy League

Stephen Eustaquisquid has been slotting in at Central Midfield for Port Royal FC, currently sitting at 4th in the academy with 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. He has had a solid season so far, he has not found the back of the net yet but has put up 3 assists so far. He has completed 477 passes at a rate of 88.5%, with 17 of them being key passes. He can improve on chances created as he only has 5 so far, but a decent average rating of 7.21.

So that is Stephen Eustaquisquid so far, currently sitting at 3rd in the class in TPE I am hopeful that after the next article and being able to purchase the last bit of my training that I can hop into 2nd or at least close the gap on the 2 great users in front of me.  Then it is stocking up on cash to make that weak foot a strong foot!
