CS Rova Mpanjaka s27 recap
#1
Now that the s28 offseason is here I thought I would look back at CRM's performance in s27

Matchday 1

No game for CS Rova as they had bye to start the season off

SSL Cup Qualifiers

XLC 3 vs. RMP 0

This was the first game of the season for CRM and they didn't get the luck of the draw as the had to play Xelajú Cósmico FC, a team in majors division 2. The stats reflect how CRM played as they struggled in this one and it was an early exit from the SSL Cup for Rova

MD2

NSU 3 vs. RMP 2

The first match of the season outside of the Cup for CS Rova and it was a close loss. CRM fell behind 1-0 in the first half and were able to tie it up early in the 2nd half. 2 goals from NSU in the 62 and 85th minutes sealed the deal for North Shore. Rova fought hard but the defense collapsed

MD3

RMP 1 vs.  KAP 1

Early on Kaapstad took the lead and held that through most of the game. It was;t until the closing stages in stoppage time that Rova tied the game up with a penalty kick. They could've started the season off 0-0-2 but thanks to VAR they started it off 0-1-1

MD4

MTL 2 vs. RMP 0

The first shutout recorded against Rova this season. Rova fought hard in this one but just couldn't put the ball into the back of the net. When looking at the xG, this game should have been a drw but CS just couldn't get the ball to bounce their way

MD5

RMP 2 vs. Magyar 2

This game was a tough one for CRM as they had to rally from a 0-2 HT deficit. They did do that alough it was much later in the 2nd half with an own goal from Magyar in the 76th minute and Jack Pow scoring the equalizer in the 81st minute. At this point in the season I'm okay with darws as you are trying to get points. Problem is if this keeps up you're more likely to either be relegated or have to play in a playoff game

MD6

Krung Thep 2 vs. RMP 2

Back to back draws from CRM and it's also back to back games where they had to comeback to secure it. This time  CRM trailed 2-1 at HT and it was Hans Grundar scoring the equalizer. CRM is still looking for that first win break through

MD7

RMP 2 vs.  Paris 2

This should've been an upset win for CRM. Instead AS Paris scored 2 unanswered late and they were able to escape with a draw. At this point the Rova has hit the halfway point of the season. They were sitting 6th in the table with a record of 0-4-2 and 4 points. They trailed Kaapsatd by 4 points and had a 1 points lead over NSU

MD8

RMP 4 vs.  NSU 0

CRM started their 2nd half off with a bang as they got a much needed win over NSU. Rova led 3-0 at HT and added 1 more just 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Combine this result with a Kaapsatd loss and CRM is now in the picture of securing a spot in D1 for s28

MD9

No game for CRM as they had their final bye of the season

MD 10

KAP 1 vs. RMP 1

This was the reverse of the first game between these two. After a scoreless first half, CRM struck first with a goal in the 1st minute of the 2nd half. The defense collapsed late and Kaapstd flipped the script as they scored the eqauilizer in the 90+5th minute. At least Rova didn't lose any ground with this draw

MD11

RMP 5 vs.  MTL 1

Another huge win for Rova and now they have some momentum in the closing stages of the season. It was close at HT as CRM was in front 2-0, but Montréal completly collapsed in the 2nd halfThis win moved CRM up to 4th in the table and out of the danger zone while MTL fell to 6th

MD12

Magyar 2 vs. RMP 0

Tough for Rova in this one as they trailed 1-0 at the half and just couldn't find the equalizer before Magyar made it 2-0. The day wasn't a total loss as Kaapsatd was on a bye and NSU pulled off an upset against MTL

MD13

RMP 1 vs. Krung Thep 0

It was a struggle for both teams but CRM broke through with a goal in the 64th minute. KTH had opportunities but just couldn't capitalize on them. This win combined with some other results meant that CRM was able to stay in division 1 for s28

MD14

Paris 4 vs. RMP 2

Rough way to end the season for CRM. They were in it throught the 1st half as the game was tied 1-1 at HT. Zach Mulder just took over in the 2nd half and scored a hat trick and that was the difference. With this looks, CRM finished 5th in thable with 14 points and a record of 3-5-4

Coming into the season I was expecting CS Rova to finish 5th in the final table. I was suprised to see that we were in a spot to where we could've finished 3rd which would've far exceeded my expectations
