Tokyo SC First Half Review
#1
Another sigh. Another loss. It's yet another season that Tokyo will not be vying for the league championship. Between being on awful team after awful team in the SHL, it seems that I can't catch much of a break league-wise in the SSL. It didn't help that we lost 1-4 at home today against another team struggling on the table. Fortunately we had made it past the first round of the SSL Cup. That's all we have to play for this season, similar to the first season. Looking around the locker room, I give everyone a half smile. Helena, my roommate, could tell something was off about me. Leaving the locker room to head home, I explain to her what's on my mind. Instead of going straight home, we ended up going to a donut shop nearby. She knew how to cheer me up. Feeling a lot better after my maple bar (or 2), we went home with me knowing that our next game would be the first leg of the 2nd round of the Cup. I remembered what happened in the first season, where we were not given any chance from anyone to make it past the first round let alone win the whole thing. We proved them wrong by lifting the trophy. And then proved our point by winning the Shield that next season. Reminiscing on this, I would make sure to train up real good in the coming days for that tie. I was caught flat footed and was passed by in what led to one of the goals against us. As part of the training, I want to avoid that from happening again. I know I'm one of the better defenders in the league, and that my partner next to me is the same, but that doesn't mean we don't need to help the other every now and then. It's time to prove to ourselves, and everyone once again, that we can make it to the next round, and maybe even win the Cup once again.

Hey, I hope you guys turn it up the rest of this season. Would be awesome to see you guys make another cup run. I know you guys are a tough club and can beat anyone on your best day, so we won't take you lightly like we did early this season.
