My Career so Far
#1
It has a been a tough start of the season for Pierre Houde and for Cairo City as a team in general. I didn't have a lot of expectations regarding my players, as I don't have high hopes for my sim league players and entered SSL with some enthusiasm, but didn't expect to set the world on fire. I'm only in another sim league, the SHL and I like to watch the streams, even though the game doesn't show us much, so I liked the idea of having Football Manager as a sim engine and was really excited to watch the sims... until I saw Pierre Houde play in all his glory. The first few sims were simply awful and I wanted to rip my eyes off watching Pierre play. He passed the ball directly to opponents on free kicks, players were able to get around him like he was a simple traffic cone and he missed headers. Trust me, it was ugly to watch, so I stopped watching the sims. Until one day I got the notification on discord that the sim was live and decided to have a look, only to see Pierre score his first career goal on a set piece. I was really happy that my player might finally be better, so I watched the next few sims, but it was still good old Pierre playing like absolute shit.

In 17 appearances, Pierre has one goal and Cairo only has one win. It's a bit depressing, but there's not much I can do about it. Looking at my stats further, as you wouldn't expect a center back to have a lot of goals, Pierre has 95% passing, but most of it comes from the fact that he doesn't take risks. It's also depressing to see that I've only made 8 tackles in 17 games as a central defender. I've also made 5 mistakes leading to goals. To put that into perspective, the best defenses in the league have only allowed 18 goals. Pierre himself has made mistakes that led directly to 5 goals. Let that sink in. This is a league-leading statistic, the player with the most mistakes leading to goals after Pierre has only 2.

Most would quit after such an abysmal season, but I decide to trust the process and to stop watching the sims in the meantime. I think we can all agree, however, that Pierre Houde, the soccer player, not the Canadiens announcer, simply sucks.

Hey good luck next season. I have a feeling you'll fare much better with recent arrivals. Hope to see you killing it next season!

Edit: But not against me :sus:
